Fields sucks ass but it would be a fool's errand to believe drafting a qb 1st overall is going to solve this thing. Drafting a qb 1st gets this coaching staff fired, which would be fine. The question then would be what shitty journeyman qb do we get for 2024 while caleb gets to sit and paint his fingernails.

Even if you believe this roster sucks, the Bears can make improvements in the offseason.

The bears beat the everloving shit out of the cardinals and they beat the eagles. Sample sizes are hard to understand, if youre an idiot.

Bring up clay pool all you want but the move was innocuous to team production. The worst poles move has been signing patrick to be the starting center

How about signing 3(three) centers who can't reliably snap the ball. Does this mean Kramer is our guy?

There was some Kramer gamble built in.

The nerd with short arms was terrible today, for sure.

It was the offensive line’s fault they held on the play and it would have been called back anyway.

He doesn't understand how the game is played.

Are there any coaches who can overcome personal business decisions?

Probably not, but I'm also of the mind that winning or losing this game shouldn't have saved or cost a coach his job.

That said, guys not playing hard is on the HC, always, right or wrong.

One team playing for their playoff lives, the other just running out the string. That was an emotional mismatch which turned into a physical one from jump.

$22M reasons...

If the Bears move forward with Fields, the starting point would be exercising the fifth-year option for 2025 (approximately $21.9 million) and then whatever an extension would cost.

No production by Fields, but his O-Line didn't do him any favors today.

They couldn't pick up simple stunts and Fields got his clock cleaned.

Yeah but I always thought/was told that culture guys like Eberflus were supposed to be able to extract maximum effort no matter the stakes once the babied millionaires buy in. Of course, when the "culture" amounts to stuff like "learn your lockermate's favorite Gundam mech" or whatever I think even the players can smell a rat and know when they're safe to give up.

Dorks like Dr. Death commanded no respect so players knew they could quit pretty much whenever they wanted. With Flus it at least seems he was able to inspire some concerted effort for a chunk of the season, but clearly today guys felt safe taking it a little easy.

They need to launch the entire coaching staff and lose Fields.

Dan Feeney should be cut just for his haircut alone.

If they are getting ready to clean house why did Warren tell CBS that stability is important?

If Eberflus stays, you can't pick a QB 1.1 and then fire Eberflus the following January. That's what they did with Fox and with Nagy, and Carolina is in a similar spot now with whoever accepts inheriting Young.

Warren strikes me as a politician more then a 'Football Guy." He's going to side with the popular vote and the path of least resistance.

Consider that since he's obviously lying about them having a stadium plan, he could also be lying about the importance of keeping the coaching staff.

My kids haven't suffered enough in their Bears fandom. They were drinking the Kool-Aid and I told them before the game they were gonna be really disappointed today....I'm sorry I was right.

Fields isn't the guy. I like him, but he is not any team's answer to the problem of Quarterback.

Someone said it on the secret FB chat a while back....Jordan Love is Kirk Cousins. He's better than Fields and he's decent, but he's not a guy you win because of.

As much as I wanted to be wrong and see a Bears win today, I'm sure the McCaskeys will find a way to continue to make this team a fucking joke going forward.

Warren is not a football person and has never been a football person. There is zero evidence he’s even competent as an executive for a football organization. He’s a well connected lawyer who leaves a trail of shit everywhere he goes.

Bears’ fans wanting him to decide the future live in the same world as Bears’ fans waiting for Fields to break out.

If Poles wants to keep Fields and they don't make the playoffs next year, he pretty much has to be fired. However, if Poles is adamant on moving on from Fields (which I think is more likely) but for whatever reason, the McCaskeys and Warren want to keep him, should Poles insist on a contract extension for himself? If he had integrity he would resign if overruled on player personnel decisions, but it's rare for a GM to get a second chance, and he might have to bite his tongue.

If Warren is making any decisions about coaching or player personnel, I may sit the next few seasons out.
