 You're something, Scorehead. Angelo had definitely made some mistakes and it was time for him to go, but you are wrong. Emery has a long, long way to go before you can even compare him to Angelo. I like Emery too but you seem to always take the last year or two years of poor performance (Peppers, Angelo, etc) and seem to forget about the overall body of work. Also Lovie being stoic and a jerk to the media or Angelo being dopey has no bearing on how they did their jobs.

Take a look at every draft pick that Angelo made as the Bears GM. It is fucking terrible. I posted it here a couple of years ago but I have no idea how to search on this board.

Sure there were some big misses, but he had some big hits too. Angelo drafted;

Alex Brown
Rex Grossman
Charles Tillman
Lance Briggs
Tommie Harris
Thank Johnson
Nathan Vasher
Kyle Orton
Chris Harris
Danieal Manning
Devin Hester
Greg Olsen
Matt Forte
Earl Bennet
Henry Melton
Johnny KNox
Corey Wooten

I'm not saying Angelo is a HOF GM by any means, but there are some good players in there. Bears made a Super Bowl and two other playoff appearances under Angelo. As I said, Emery has a long way to go before he can be compared to Angelo.

That's fine. Your guy has a long way to go before he is as successful as Angelo was with the Beloved.

His John Tait signing and the theft of Ruben Brown and Ted Washington was great too.

I will say his last three drafts (outside of Forte) were pretty fucking brutal

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet
#Bears didn’t represent the biggest $ offer for Jared Allen: #Raiders did. They were willing to pay him $9M. He believed Bears were best fit

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet
How did it go down: Ken Harris, Allen’s agent, met with #Bears off-site Sunday in Orlando. Agreed to terms Tues. Final today. Signing Monday

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet
Make no mistake, part of Jared Allen’s reason for choosing the #Bears was his faith in Jay Cutler as a QB who can win titles.

 @ best fit. Yeah, not being the Oakland Raiders is a pretty damn good fit, for just about any player.

Emery has a plan, knows what he wants to do & executes the plan. This is going to be a real fun season for Bears fans. The beloved have a much better football team now than they did last year. 11-5. NFC North champs.

Can we just skip the baseball season?

What kind of plan is molding a 10-6 team with the third best defense in the league into an 8-8 team with one of the worst defenses in the league?

The Bears on Sunday agreed to terms on a one-year contract with center Brian de la Puente.

The 6-3, 306-pounder spent the past three seasons with the New Orleans Saints, starting all 16 games each of the last two years and 12 of 16 games played in 2011.

De la Puente, 28, entered the NFL with the 49ers in 2008 as an undrafted free agent out of California. He also spent time with the Chiefs (2008), Seahawks (2009), Panthers (2009), 49ers (again in 2010) and Seahawks (again in 2010) before joining the Saints in 2011.

Like Bears left tackle Jermon Bushrod, De la Puente excelled in New Orleans under the tutelage of Bears offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer, who served as Saints line coach from 2009-12.

In 2011, New Orleans set NFL records with 7,474 total yards (467.1 per game) and 5,347 passing yards (334.2) while ranking second in scoring (34.2 points) and tying for second with 24 sacks.

In 2012, the Saints ranked second in the league in total yards with 410.9 per game and third in scoring with 28.8 points. They also permitted only 26 sacks, tied for the third fewest in the league.

De la Puente is the 30th player the Bears have signed since the final week of December. The group includes 17 returning Bears players, 10 unrestricted free agents and three street free agents.

This seems like an odd signing. There really is not room for him to start next year and it is only a one year deal. Is something up with Garza? I assume they gave him an assurance like Slausen where, they will take care of him next year if everything works out.

Insurance policy for an old Garza, and if he's good... a potential replacement after next year.

Come on now. You know the situation that this Bears team was in. Sometimes you have to go backwards before you go forward.

Yes, but why would he take it. He is a starting caliber center in this league. I just have to believe that Kromer assured him that he will get him a 3 year deal and be the starter next year.

He is probably better than Garza right now.

The only other team I saw interested in him was the Skins, and they signed someone else instead. Might not have been another deal out there.

That said, it may not even be accurate to assume he is the backup.

I really do not know about this but I do get the feeling the Bears staff like competition. So maybe he beats Garza in camp?

Can he long-snap? Maybe Bears are trying to send a hint to Mannelly.

Here is your Adam Dunn is working hard in the offseason article

Quote:
Bears linebacker Shea McClellin has dropped 11 pounds and his body fat by 8 percent, according to his personal trainer.
Scot Prohaska tweeted that McClellin is now 252 pounds, down from 263. His body fat is also 10 percent after it was previously at 18 percent.
Below are the photos that show a slimmed-down McClellin, who was moved to linebacker this offseason after two disappointing seasons at defensive end. McClellin will challenge for the strong-side linebacker position.

good dolphin dropped 11 during Lent without a fancy trainer

Would you like to see my before and after?

B and B were correct. He looks like a high school player in the after photos. Still, I bet Hunter Hillenmeyer looked the same with his shirt off and he had a nice NFL career.

Based on the pictures above, I would never guess that McClellin is a pro football player. He looks small and only in decent condition.

He looks like any regular dude a local gym would have pictures as a success story. The left picture has to be after he did nothing for 2 months after the season.

The after looks like my kid as there is no reference there in the pic. Also, my comment about the first si that thye made him get heavier to try to play end. Looks like he wasn't good at adding good weight.
