It's not that the defense is really good and the offense is bad. it's that the defense is really good and the offense might be the worst in the entire league. it's either the bears or jets for worst offense of the year.

i think they're more like the eagles offense.

the problem with that is the eagles have multiple injuries at skill positions on offense. the bears are basically completely healthy at skill positions and still suck.

That’s because Foles sucks. Something those of us who watch non-Bear games tried explaining to you.

This trolling is not working for you. I was never a Foles guy. I wanted Winston or Bridgewater.

You still think Foles is better than (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky?

That doesn't make me a Foles guy. I'm stating the obvious: he's better than your guy. That's where my "support" ends. I don't want Foles near Chicago next year except as a backup.

If he is better, why is he playing worse than 2019 (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky?

Valid question but here's where you go wrong: Trubinsky won't be any better.

Because the 2020 offense as a whole is worse than the 2019 Bears offense.

BRick.....the argument between Mitch and Foles is a road to nowhere. It doesn't matter. Neither are very good. Neither CAN be very effective considering the offensive line is complete garbage.

But....go on....enjoy your debate.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was also better than this in the first 2.5 games he played this year though clearly that isn't quite enough time to know for certain.

There is a weird dynamic where everyone seems to think that Foles is better but when Foles does poorly over multiple games it becomes "Well, both are bad" like suddenly you shouldn't be comparing them.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has the option to run...that makes him better in one dimension of the game. I don't trust his throwing accuracy more than Foles. That's not to say I think Foles is very accurate...he's not. I also trust Foles more to understand the offense better. I also trust Foles to read the opposing defense better.

It's a wash at best. Maybe Mitch running makes him overall more effective, but at the same time...Mitch was playing against the Lions and the Giants.....woof. If you think he played better than Foles.....ok...but he looked pretty awful to me.

so again....I don't necessarily think Foles is better. The offense as a whole is one of the league worst. Neither Mitch or Foles are capable of making something decent out of that shit pile.

they're not even playing with the same O-line guys now.

Foles is better than Trubs. It's not an argument. The Bears deep ball game was non-existent with Mitch. Their run game is already non-existent. The only shot they have against good teams is dump offs to the TE until things loosen up deep. And that's on Nagy to fix, not Foles.

I'd play Trubs in games like last night. If Foles gets hurt the season is over. The Bears would never have won that game anyway. The game was over the minute they started playing it.

I'm not saying that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is great, but Foles has been so bad that even as a passer there isn't really an argument that Foles is better based on production. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky at his worst was probably 2019 and Foles will have to put together multiple good games to even get on the pace of that kind of season.

The Bears are still 5-2, and you never know what happens in the playoffs. I want to determine which player is better and have them out there. You can get rid of (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky in the offseason and that's fine but for this year they need to give (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky another shot if Foles doesn't turn it around quick.

There, see, I agree with him.

The excuse game for Foles is reaching Cutler levels. The line isn't the reason he has as many interceptions as touchdowns.

Can we move to talking about how Jared Goff isn't much better than Mitch or Foles and gets paid a shit ton of money?

he's an enigma. pressure up the middle and he throws intercept-able balls off his back foot. get him moving on a designed roll or give him a clean pocket and he can rip it with the best of them

There is nothing worth saving here. The qbs are shit. The line is shit. The GM is nothing short of incompetent. A dog picking bones with plays on them would be just as effective as whatever this coaching room throws together every week. They cant run. They cant consistently pass. They cant stop the run. They are overly reliant on the secondary taking one back for 6 to have any real chance of staying in games. Nothing works and there are no fixes. 8-8 again.
