Fuller may shut down Robinson, but he's always had an issue with speed.

As long as you get a prime time game Pack-Bears graphic on Fuller as a cap casualty, followed by a big hit or INT, I’m good with it.

Seriously, this team is pathetic. There are no standards here. The NFL cap is a joke when teams like the Saints figure out how to go from $80m over to signing FAs, while the Bears cut good players to sign ginger journeymen.

Bears defense will be worse, offense the same. Should have cleaned house and started trading veterans. The window is closed!

Maybe they're freeing up money for Golladay and ARob.

Arthur blasted Pace, saying the Bears are a "dumpster fire."

Roquan is the only 1st round pick still on the team.

Wow. The scale of the team's failure in the draft over the past decade is difficult to comprehend.

And ownership doesn't see a problem. That's even scarier.

The sad part is you may very well be correct. They’ll invest $35,000,000 in WR just before another draft which is extraordinarily deep at the position. And $10,000,000 in a QB who can’t take advantage of them.

Could have probably had Marvin Jones AND Golloday for the price of Robinson this year.

I like Robinson and think it is good to reward in house. Hopefully this FA market is a dose of reality for him in his expectations.

I don't see a way out of this.

The defense is worse. The offense is no better. There are too many holes to be filled by the draft. There isn't money to spend in free agency.

I just don't see a path on this one other than to break things up.

him signing his tender means his agent believes he wont get a long term deal worth signing if he was a FA. so you take the tag (which is probably 3-4M more than a one year deal he could get in this market) and try again next year when the cap presumably goes up

You’re in cap hell and getting old. I think breaking it up is the only thing that makes sense. Anything you sign to help right now is putting lipstick on a pig and probably counter productive long term. Too many missed draft picks and traded picks. Organizational failure.

I’d say Chiefs, could wear a Christian Okoye jersey and enjoy a generational talent at QB but Andy Reid incompetence might make it frustrating.

I think he signed because he feared the Bears would rescind their offer and he wouldn’t have a better option.

The Bears have also given star defensive lineman Akiem Hicks permission to seek a trade, the Chicago Tribune reported. He's due $10.5 million in 2021, and his exit would clear more salary cap space. If Hicks were to depart, the Bears would be losing the beating heart of their once-vaunted defense. He's a player and person who's considered indispensable in the locker room.

Upon learning of Fuller's impending exit and the possibility that Hicks could be out too, the Bears had several key players who were "pissed," as one source close to the team described. Star safety Eddie Jackson, who recently restructured his contract with the hope of keeping a teammate like Fuller in Chicago, tweeted his frustration after the news of Fuller's future became public.

They lost the team.

if there was a trade market for Hicks, why wouldn't there have been one for Fuller?

This has been building but it's all come to a head. This roster is in really bad shape. Pace gets all the credit for this mess.

Not only are there too many holes to be filled by the draft, Pace's draft record shows he's clueless in doing so.

Whoever said it earlier....they lost the team and that defense does NOTHIGN without Hicks.
