It seemed to me that you were saying that I was choosing stats that looked good for Williams that didn't meet the reality of how he was playing. Do you actually think I am good at choosing stats to judge Williams on?

Now you're back to the use of invalid "inferences" as a means of advancing your nonsensical arguments.

I asked you to explain what you mean by bad stats and you proceeded to explained what my question "seemed" to you.

How about this. You have repeatedly claimed that Caleb "can throw Find the stats that support this and I will find the stats that illustrate my contention that he can't. Deal?

Yes, that's a way to explain what someone means. "What do you mean?" leads to "It seems that...".

That's the great thing about my suggestion. You can choose your own stats. I'm really looking forward to what you set the over/under on wins for the Jets next year since you love QB wins so much.

Now Now Now Brick. Let's not deflect. How about you simply validate your contention that Caleb Williams "can throw"Deal?

Be patient. We'll have our chance to say things we can be right or wrong on well before the season starts.

Tomlin disregarded all of that in order to stick with washed up Russ.

Probably because the offense was better with " washed up Russ " than Justin Fields. Tomlin sure is an idiot though.

So you cannot even validate your repeated assertions that Caleb "can throw"?Shocking

It's going to be obvious this year that Caleb Williams "can throw".

Doc, the problem with using game or season statistics with you is that you invalidate unfavorable (to you) stats as garbage time, so stats aren't a great way of parsing performance. Team wins is obviously a dumb way to evaluate QB play for many reasons. And you don't know enough about football to judge by eye test, so really there's no option you guys can agree on.

You said the very same thing before the start of last season however. Only to kick the can down the road (as you're doing now) once it was illustrated that he could not.

Williams had some great passing games. He also had some of the worst passing games I've ever seen. That's common for a rookie QB though the bad games were really troubling.

The stats strongly suggests that he cannot throw.

Maybe you are right. You'll have your chance to set the over/unders once we have a good handle on the rosters for next year. Until then, we can talk about other offseason NFL topics.

You can discuss Offseason topics as I'm not interested in conversations which pertain to the Bears "winning the Offseason". There are other people around here for that sort of thing. I'll catch up with you once there are actual games to play or perhaps during training camp.

I'm going to guess there is less than a 0% chance you don't talk about football before training camp.

OK you "guessed" it. If you can't explain why you believe that Caleb "can throw" when the stats strongly suggests that he cannot, then there is no point of holding this particular discussion is there?

OK I did I "guess". Doesn't mean that I will "make it" for the next 5 months because I won't. You are however, free to discuss all the ways in which things will be better for the "Garbage Time King" next season while I will simply wait for next season. Or at least training camp before I REALLY start discussing such things.

Out Of Bounds better not be his best receiver.

Anyways, I hope he's Baker Mayfield but gets there quicker than Baker Mayfield did.

God bless Justin for earning a solid second contract, dude will always be remembered for some of the most explosive runs in team history, rarely see any player, let alone a QB, run away from NFL DB's, it was amazing to watch.

Do not see Justin running the ball like he did with the Bears, he is a bit wiser now and picks his spots, but he still takes a lot of hits, would expect him to miss several games due to injury.

Expect the Jets to rely on their D and run game, try to win 10-9 or 13-10.

He did some impossible things and I understand why he's loved. It's misplaced considering the million fucking things a QB has to deal with, but admirable nonetheless. Unlike a lineman. They deal with like 4 things, 5 if they value sweaty and stinky, and call it a day.
