Jeffery isn't really a weapon anymore. The Eagles are spending $14m on a prayer that Jeffery can be the same player he was when he had Brandon Marshall, Martellus Bennett and Matt Forte drawing all sorts of attention...I wouldn't hold my breath on that happening.

Yea that's the one shitty thing. Why not trade Jeffery to Philly during the season? They were very interested in him then.

He's still better than Kevin White and this move is really a ego play by Pace to force White into the #1 role, provided he doesn't break his other leg week 1

Not really. $14 mil/year is pretty good. If he plays well this year he will sign a big contract next summer and the gamble worked out well.
A 1 year deal either means you suck or you overvalued your market.

In a league where you are one injury away from being retired you don't want to be on a one year deal.

Cameron Meredith is the #1.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. But he probably does have more upside than White.

Not true. In this case, it clearly means Alshon and his agent know he can do better than that mess of a season last year, and getting $14 million for a prove it year is very good money. Like I said, if he plays well this year it was worth it.

Nobody in the world would take Kevin White over Meredith at this point.

Exactly this is the best deal for Jeffery, not for the Eagles. Bears shouldn't be in the business of doing favors for guys so they can cash in next year.

Typo. I meant does :) Kevin White's 4.3 40 was fugazzi. He never played that fast on the field and is a horrible route runner

I just can't imagine he is happy with a one year deal. It may work out though but most players want the big contract right away.

You mean mess of a season in 2015 and 2016

FF, it seems as if you are trying to absolve Alshon of blame for the "mess" of the last two seasons. He was the one who couldnt get himself back on the field. Then when it seemed he was healthy, he got suspended for something he put in to his own body.

I certainly wouldn't vote that Alshon "won" this free agency year.

even when the Bears win they lose.

I didn't like the White pick when they made it and I (obviously) dont like it now, but you must hope that he'll get his shit together this year. Even after the sign or draft someone the WR depth chart is not strong.

Kevin White is no longer a 4.3 guy. He never could run routes well either. There is no more hope for him

Bernsie told us Alshon wanted out because he had no friends AND he hated cold weather.

I said it before and I will say it again, if White put up the numbers Meredith did last year (in instances where he was the main target, mind you) we would be raving about the development and anticipating the typical year 3 bump in production.

I do not think of him as a #1 but I think he is fully capable of playing the big bodied, move the chains type of role Alshon played.

I don't see how anybody could have faith in White staying healthy and productive.

I don't. He isn't terrible, but with film on him and teams preparing for him he's just a guy.

NWE, your scouting assessment on Meridith is correct, but he's still better than Kevin White, and as of now, our #1 WR

WR now becomes a draft priority to include with QB, CB, S, TE
