A lot of their grades are wildly off. They think Chris Carson is a top 4 RB in the NFL this year. I like Blake Martinez but they think he's one of the best ILBs in the NFL and that's ridiculous.

We can even look at the photo you posted. David Bakhtiari has been the very best OT in football this year, Rodgers has been pretty bad, and they think Rodgers is objectively playing his position better than Bakhtiari is his. That's just a ridiculous assertion, and keep in mind these grades do not give special weight to the QB position.

There are just dozens and dozens of examples like this. They are a subjective, easily digestible ratings system, so people just take their grades as objective truth when that's clearly not the case.

HHCD graded as a top-3 safety when he was traded...

 oh yeah. That too.

because they are purporting to provide objective statistics when they are actually providing "statistics" loaded with subjectivity

They are like most baseball defensive statistics where a "should have" element somehow takes numerical form and is used as truth

They were a top 10 defense without Mack last year and added Smith and Nichols to the starting lineup while also developing Jackson going into his second year.

like you said, I think they would be good but not elite. They would be a team that could stop you but not one you feared.

This is a game I’ve been waiting for for a while. The Bears have to beat Rodgers, this is the test. If they can’t beat Rodgers, then they can’t beat Brees and so on. You aren’t for real until you prove you can beat the best QB’s in the league.

They need to win this game. And it has to be Rodgers out there the whole way.

This is also what this rivalry is all about. There is no rivalry without big games like this. We’ll see, should be fun. So awesome to have meaningful football being played in Chicago again.

Cheers

He knows. He’s out there calling the T-formation and handing the ball off in goaline situations to DT’s.. oh, he knows damn well.

if they find a QB.

They're already a really good team without one.

defenses fade. a good qb ensures sustained success.

I guess we have different definitions of sustained. I mean like the next 5 years, not the next 15.

A good coach ensures sustained success as well.

5 is generous. It’s a very long time for a defense to be consistently great. It’s even more of a leap when they’re so reliant on one player to make everything work.

Bears defense didn’t look useless when Mack was injured. He’s their best player, but he isn’t their only good player. Hicks, Jackson and Fuller are all pro-bowl level players. Smith may also turn out to be special going forward too.

And guys like Goodman and Trevathan are high quality borderline pro-bowl type players as well. This was a top 10 defense before Smith and Mack.

YOu gotta love Nagy and his attitude. I was also really impressed with the locker room celebration when he held up the game ball and dedicated it to the FANS. Never seen a coach do that much less a Bear's coach. When you have a team that buys into their coach, no matter what the personality of the coach is, playing is a lot of fun. what a change from the last guys the Bear's had for coaches, eh?

Lots of homophobia in this thread. Very sad that Frank wants to take us back to 1956.

 Poor FF. I'm not homophobic at all. If Rodgers wants to suck on some dick, that is his deal. Why hide it though? As Matt Nagy's playsheet says, "BE YOU."

FF now calling his own quarterback a joke. Things are falling apart quick in Packerland!

The Bears are coming off a statement win against the number one team in the NFC.

Mitch should continue to improve after returning from his injury break.

GB has been awful on the road. I wouldn't expect that to change on Sunday.

Agreed, but at this rate, I'm going to guess that 8-10 games next year will not be at noon on Sunday.

With that current schedule looking like the Saints, Rams, Cowboys, AFC West (Chargers/Chiefs/Broncos and the Mack connection with the Raiders) and then GB/Minnesota, they are going to on MNF at least 2x, and probably 2x SNF to start along with the late FOX starts (of course, all but MNF is flexible as the season moves along).

Mods please ban at this point. Bob was warned repeatedly and the precedent about hate speech has already been set.
