I was listening to Gabriel a couple of weeks ago. He gave a very strong indication that Gould will call the 49ers bluff and walk away from football rather than play on the west coast. I believe he talked with Robbie who told him it was a quality of life consideration with his family living in chicago year round and that he was very insistent.

It certainly seems like the Bears are not panicked by the kicking situation so maybe they know what is up. They are practically leaving the position open for him.

$5M. dude isn't walking away.

if he does, what a dumbass

If I was his kid, I would tell dad to get his ass to work and we'll hang out in January. Cut me off a cool million and I promise to live close by in adulthood

There are limited years to earn. Even with cost of living in CA it's too much money to leave on the table. He will kick for the 49ers.

The kicking game really is the team's one weak link and it should really be bothering the Bear's. Just look at last year's play-offs. The entire season came down to a guy being unable to kick a field goal. A great team has a guy who can make that kick the large percentage of times.

IN addition, expand the problem to the other aspects of the kicking game. We do not have a decent kick-off team. Part of it is the stupid rules which took the return pretty much out of the game but when a return is possible, they can't block worth a shit and create anykind of space for the return guy.

Parkey outscored the offense in that playoff game.

I was hoping Casey Bednarski would survive. Prior to Parkey's mishaps, my son watched him make a 63 yarder IN GAME in Mankato, MN. D II but still.....that's worth considering.

I read something about Nagy not being happy with him doing a back flip after hitting a kick.

This Pineiro guy they traded for from the Raiders appears to have some promise.

I put 100% of the blame on offense,Nagy and Parky. The D played great.. forced turnovers and held a good offense down.

With all the flack Parkey received, it took the spotlight of a very poorly coached game by Nagy. The very timid play calling in the first half? Giving Cohen only 2 rushing attempts the entire game? A shovel pass to a 165 pound receiver designed to go up the middle on a 2 point conversion?

And I still can't forgive Nagy for the 4th and one pass from the shotgun formation in the season opening loss to Green Bay. That was as dumb a play call as Dowell Loggains could have ever called.

That's why when I hear some in the media swoon over Nagy, like yesterday when Parkins commented about Mitch's possible MVP chances being enhanced because of the brilliance of Nagy, I cringe. Let's see how Nagy and his offense perform this year when the league has had some time to adjust. Trestman's offense looked good the first year too.

Awful game plan, agreed. I've heard excuses for Nagy like " he had a huge volume of plays lined up for Burton" that's nonsense, he was decent at best all season long and he's mentally weak.

Lets not forget that the defense gave up a TD on 4th down in crunch time.

Parkey also missed a game winning kicm in Miami, which would have given the Bears a bye.

There is blame that can be passed around to MANY for the Eagles playoff loss. That said and despite all of the poor performance from the offense and head coach, the Bears still had a chance to win that game if Parkey makes a relatively easy FG.
