While I see reasons for the game plan today (and I think it was a okay one because it worked) I have concerns. The screens were good and I could see why they didn't try to run much. I would have like to have seen them stretch a little more but see why they didn't. They did some things right some things I questioned (running the 3rd and 13) but I really hope this coaching staff doesn't screw up Cutler. Olsen is an alert and smart player but needs to work on catching the ball.

Defense is looking good. I don't feel like I believe it yet but they looked good. Maybe other teams are having trouble gelling.

The Steelers are a different team without polamalu.

Happy for the win. Both sides are looking pretty good. They will continue to gel.

This is a big night for you with the above comment and the one about the offensive line. Are the packers still going to have this wrapped up by week 10? Is Rodgers still top 5 material?

They still need a running game, gel or no gel.

Did you really expect them to have one with today's field and the Steelers defense?

it might take til week 12. Yes rodgers is. He might be playing with the worst line in the league and led a game winning drive last week and almost brought them back this week. Still hasn't thrown an interception

Brought them back? They lost by 10.

The Bears OLine is worse.

they lost by 7 and had the ball on the bengals ten yard line. And i dont know anyone who would agree with you on the lines. Are you even watching the games?

i think i said the line could be average. They did look good in preseason. I know i said i expected the line to be better than last season. I still think the team will be very good. I definitely wasn't the only one saying that either

i agree but i'm not drastically changing it. That line scares me so far. I still think they have a great team. Lots to be encouraged by so far

Good game, awful field.

For the field to look like that, on opening day no less, is a joke. Put field turf down and be done with it. I don't care that U2 was just there or if a plane crashed into it a week ago. High schools have better conditions than what the Bears/Steelers had to play in.

I'm watching the games FF, the Bears Oline is a lot worse. The Pace-Omeyale side of that line is one giant turnstyle.

I guess there must have been a meaningless field goal the Packers got, because last I saw they were down 10 with under 2 minutes to go at home against a crap team.

If the freakin Cardinals can have a grass field in the middle of the desert, that they ROLL OUTSIDE to help take care of, then the Bears/Park District should be able to come up with some sort of plan to have a top notch grass field for the Beloved to play on.

Doug and OB said for whatever reason the 3-4 d's the bears have seen the last two weeks is why they haven't run well. They think they will run the ball well vs. Seattle this weekend.

If Gore can get 207 on 16 carries against the Seahawks, I should hope that forte can get 100, but I don't know how the bears offensive line compares to the 49er's O-line....

That was a great game to watch. I think the run game will be fine. I doubt many teams will have success running against Pittsburgh.

Alfalava is an excellent tackler. Knox seems to know how to find open space when Cutler is buying time.

One thing that hasn't changed since last year - the Bears are still a horrible blitzing team and they should stop altogether except you can't do that.

frank some of the things you say make me question what you're seeing. How the hell was the fg meaningless when they got the ball back and if it wasn't for a false start call needed only ten more yards to tie. And especially with clifton gone i cant see your logic for the bears having a worse line. Rodgers got sacked 7 times and narrowly evaded many more. This was against the bengals, not a good defensive team

There won't be any field turf as long as international soccer games are played there. Those leagues prefer natural grass.

What's the basis for your assumption? The Bears couldn't run against the Packers either, but it looks like Cedric Benson didn't have much of a problem shredding them.

I agree with Noisey. I think the whole Green Bay game was off, the line was worse than terrible, and the plan was to throw the ball around. The line was not great last night but nowhere near as bad as last week. Steelers have one of the best defenses in the league, the field was crap, and the game plan was around short screen passes.

I don't think they've given up on the run it's just been on the shelf the last few weeks.

Well what are your expectations for the run game? I don't think Forte is that good of a runner and the line appears to be below average, so I don't hold out hope for a stellar ground game. Do you?

I enjoy a good running game as much as the next guy...but it sure was fun to watch Cutler play QB like we have never seen before in Chicago.
Cutler was fantastic yesterday & a joy to watch.
Forte will get his yards.

I see your point Midge. I believe Forte got a lot of "somebody yards" last year. He's good not great.

As exciting as he was last year, RB's come and go quickly, see A-Train

A lot of people think Forte is not as good as he is made out to be. Last night he looked slow and confused. The O line is not good and the 3-4 defenses are hard to run against. I don't think Turner's play calling helps.

All that being said I like Forte a lot. I wear the blue and orange goggles when I look at him. I think he will have more success against the Seahawks. If he doesn't, then I might start worrying.

The Steelers held the Tennessee Titans to 85 yards rushing last week and they exploded for 240 yards against the Texans the following week.

The Steelers are one of the very best run defenses in the league - I'm not going to freak out just yet over Forte. He runs his best when he gets to that second level - the 3-4, the way the Steelers run it in particular, does a good job of preventing that.

I agree that Forte--as well as the offense in general--is held back by Turner's schemes. With a QB like Cutler, the Bears should try running out of spread formations, especially against the 3-4. Since I believe Forte's forte ( ) are his very good receiving skills, I would also split him out on occasion and figure out ways to get him the ball in space and on the run. Forte has the potential to be a good weapon, but he needs to be used in ways that will accentuate his ability. I don't believe he has the size or ferocity to be a power runner, but Turner seems to want to turn him into one.

I'm not a Turner hater, but his play calling thus far this year has been lacking. He really hasn't taken advantage of Cutler by spreading out the defense and letting Forte run against some five in the box. And he hasn't called play action effectively yet either. I can only hope that he's saving those ...

Forte is a pretty good sized back, but to your point, he isn't a power back. He is most effective at making people miss when he gets past that first line of defense. He hasn't really been put in that position much yet this year.

I'd agree they don't use what they have. That's why I'm afraid for Cutler. Turner finally has a qb that can do things and he might not use him. There is no hiding anymore. I want them to try to win games more than try not to lose them. I'd like to see some no huddle offense too.

Forte is a good all around back but he is not a workhorse consistent runner like hes been hyped to be. he will get a decent amount of yards rushing and he is a great receiver out of the backfield. the bears could use a power runner to compliment him. peterson is decent but they could do better

1,200 yards and a 3.9-4.1 YPC average...same as last year when he ran behind a bad (and most likely worse) offensive line.
