It was a flag football level catch. Any NFL receiver should have made it.

But once again, the drops are just the most obvious manifestation of the problem. But two other plays sum up the Brandon Marshall experience nicely. First, he misplayed a ball in the air in the end zone. That won't count as a drop but the effect is the same. Second, they'll force passes to him whether they are or aren't there. That won't show up on his stats either but they are INTs just the same.

As with everything, depends on the price. The Bears gave up a decent draft pick for the privilege of paying market rate on a wide receiver. That's defensible for certain types of players. But Marshall's skill-set is overvalued by fans and probably overvalued by GMs. Salary cap league, yo.

Vincent Jackson was the most closely related WR on the market. Jackson is older but signed for more years and more money. The Bucs had a ton of money so they weren't going to let him get away anyway.

The next WR was Pierre Garcon. He is far much less accomplished and signed for comparable money to what Marshall is making.

Marshall has warts but it was a good football move.

I also think Marshall isnt better than Jackson. But it's obvious by this thread I'm not a big fan of Marshall's.

Ok that's find for you and I'm glad your happy, but like someone else said, so far it's similar to averaging 28 ppg on 40% FG so far(nba parallel). He hasn't been great at all.
