I talked about Toub here, last year I think. This fits right in with the Bears thinking.

I can hear Virginia now:
"Hire the nice man that is already here. He has to keep most of his coaches, too."

Haley is having issues in Pitt already. Ben was calling out his play calling yesterday.

Does Dave Toub as Bears head coach excite anybody? No. This organization needs a blood transfusion. I am very concerned though that Todd Haley will be Emery's first choice. Lets hope not.

Yes he did. I follow KC pretty closely and I am telling you right now we want nothing to do with Haley. Dude is a crazy meathead. He will make Tice look like a scholar. He is pretty good as an OC, but he is not a head coach.

Would make Tice look like a scholar? Wow. Yea, fuck him.

Hopefully Emery hires someone proven in the league and I think the pressue on the McCaskey's to get it right will be strong this time around.

Don't get too excited guys. If Bears win next two games, which is 50/50, I don't think Lovie gets canned. Although maybe Virginia will cane him. (bang!)

I think the only way Lovie saves his job is if the Bears make it to at least the NFC title game. Even if they sneak into the playoffs and lose the first game, he should be gone.

Mully was floating the idea of Mike Nolan earlier today and lauded his ability to develop young defensive players.

Then he was reminded that Mike Nolan's choice of offensive coordinators in San Francisco was...Mike Martz!

Doh!

How many former head coaches do we have as coordinators, and you imagine the McCaskeys will go shopping for somebody new?!?

Silly wabbits...

I refuse to champion anyone as this search will go as well as the rest of executive searches under Ted Phillips and I will be left frustrated.

Norv Turner? If Southwest Airlines still had the "Wanna Get Away?" commercials, the soon-to-be former Chargers' HC certainly fits the bill along with soon-to-be ex-Eagles HC Andy Reid. No to both.

Do I not recall you being in the Toub camp?

I'll take Norv Turner as the new OC.

In fact I want an entire coaching staff of failed head coaches.

Ron Riviera, if Carolina is dumb enough to let him go. If not, I would love to see them seriously go after Sean Payton.

Chico? No way. Bears should put the full court press on Payton. Same goes for the Cowboys.

Mully said Emery already has a guy in mind for the next coach.

I'm very scared to think of the name on his list.

How about the guy that took over in Indianapolis when their head coach got sick? I can't come up with either name but isn't the head coach that got sick expected back because he's doing really wel?

Is anybody that called me crazy nuts a few years ago going to admit maybe I was right about Harbaugh for at that time OC?

I lived around KC for several years back during the Gunther Cunningham into Dick Vermeil era. I grew to enjoy Trent Green, Priest Holmes, and the gang. They were fun to watch, just wish they could have found a defense during those years. I still keep up with them, so they are probably my 2nd favorite team behind the Bears.

Won't be Sean Payton.

Signed a 5 year deal with New Orleans.

According to Yahoo Sports' Jason Cole, "word around the league" is that Ken Whisenhunt (Cardinals), Lovie Smith (Bears), and Jim Schwartz (Lions) are all expected to be safe entering the offseason.

Out of those three, Schwartz is the one who most deserves to get fired.

Lovie Smith is 81-63 in 9 years. His winning percentage (.5625) is identical to Tony Dungy's when Dungy was fired in TB in 2001 (54-42).
