My guy Sutton! I really like him. IMO he is similar to Donald.

UFA from what I've heard. I would not be surprised if the Bears signed him tomorrow night. Already had him in for a visit.

Doc can you tell me why I shouldn't be pissed about the players the Bears have drafted? Besides Donald every other player the Bears SHOULD have wanted was available but they didn't draft any of them. Why?

He'll be better than both of Emery's busts.

Yeah here is a recipe for a good 3rd round pick

Quote:
Has short arms and small hands. Could do a better job working off blocks, creating separation and protecting his legs. Tends to wear down and tire late in games and effort wanes. Needs to develop more pass-rush moves -- stays blocked too long. Relies too much on his upper-body strength. Can be late to locate the ball and needs to do a better job of feeling blocking pressure and anticipating. Misses a lot of tackles. Minimal sack production.

They passed on Nix twice and refused to trade up a couple slots in each round to fill a need. There were needs at TE and LBer that could have been filled. They still need a DE of the future too.

I like Nix too, but surely you get why he does not really fit what they want to do?

There was no DE of the future to be taken. The DTs they took are solid prospects that you should expect to contribute.

I liked Nix but I understand the medical concerns.

There are injury risks with every player and they could have avoided those risks by trading up a couple of picks in the first 2 rounds.

They could have traded up to get Donald and Jernigan and it wouldn't have cost them much. They could have easily had the Ravens first 2 picks and I believe that would have made our defense a lot better than it will be next season.

no worries, just think by training camp you will be on the Superbowl train

Has there ever been a year over the past 10 years where I wasn't on the SB train? If I'm not full meatball on the Bears something is wrong. Once July rolls around I am all in.

I'm trying to be objective here, so BEAR with me. Sutton was a good pick, and Fuller was either a great or below average pick. If he doesn't end up being a very good corner it was a below average pick. I think he will be that though and be a good pick. I like Sutton, seems like a very good pick. Ego was a fucking terrible pick and will never have a good moment in the NFL.

2 out of 3 good picks. I would say that is pretty objective for you.

Now what are your objective thoughts on the Pack picks?

I dunno, I am intrigued by Fegusen (sp) personally. Only 1 sack is alarming, and I think they could have gotten him a bit later tho.

Sutton I like, nice burst off the line and fights blocks real well. Kind of forgot about him till they called his name tbh

Since FF is being objective. I will try to be objective about the Pack draft so far.

I like the Dix pick. I think he could be a real good safety for quite awhile.

Not sold on the WR pick in round 2. Could have helped the D more, and if you were going to go WR should have went with Latimer

Round 3 picks make no sense to me, total reaches on both. Could have had each later on.

Yeah, Bears should have drafted saftey 1st. Clinton-Dix or Pryor improve our defense immediately -which I thought was the idea behind a 14th overall pick. Hub mentioned today on B&B that Fuller could play FS initially for the Bears however.

I'm with you on Nix man, but Sutton does fit the scheme better.
