If you really wanted to avoid it all along, you certainly would not have started with this. You clearly either want the discussion to turn this way, or you wanted to bash Cutler. If you didn't, you wouldn't have started your discussion with the "hatred for Cutler" disclaimer, and you wouldn't be backpedaling.

I've created plenty of threads about Jay Cutler that have ended up in this same exact spot without a sarcastic quip about it. Do you honestly think I was admitting I just hate Jay Cutler and my thoughts aren't rational? :lol:

I'll do it again this year like I've done in years past if the "Rick hates Cutler" crowd wants but I have no problem laying out what Cutler would have to do in order to make me a believer. I would just hope they would also provide their expectations.

I just don't see why the expectation is that I should somehow change my doubts on him when he has pretty much hovered from the 10th to 20th best QB in the league for his whole time here. I mean, he was outplayed by Josh McNown, who pretty much sucks, last year.

Im not saying you should change your opinion, but I think you judge him harshly

And you never know what the situation will be so putting numbers on it is kinda pointless. You just gotta judge it after it happens.

QBs should get judged harshly. Do you hate Matt Ryan? Do most people hate Tony Romo?

Matt Stafford can throw for 4,500+ yards in three straight seasons and people talk bad about him.

The only difference is that Cutler is a Bear.

If anything Jay Cutler get handled with kid gloves. QBs everywhere undergo incredible scrutiny. Manning and Brady have been trashed in recent years for coming up short and being soft. They might be the two greatest QBs ever.

The media, and even players are saying that it is a "new Jay Cutler" this year. I don't think the criticism about his attitude was baseless given how they are saying that he is now different.

He has been horrible in three playoff games (73, 69, 71 ratings). Accurate.

You think putting Ryan and Cutler in the same sentence is an insult to Ryan, which its not. That in and of itself shows the bias.

But I think you bring up the Rick hates Cutler talk more than anyone. I think if you just discuss him on merit without referencing that you'll find decent conversations. If someone suggests you just hate him, then ignore it.

I assume the suspension was because of his refusal to do something he was told to do by his coach after that practice.
