It would be hard to have worse technique and take worse angles than Conte. Hes brutal.

Yep. He would be great if it wasn't for that whole football thing.

It really looked like Conte went at things either not be be concussed or afraid to lay wood for fear of penalty/suspension. Either way timid is not NFL caliber.

Also, didn't anyone notice Munday today? Or rookie Fuller? Not me.

Hmmm...I just saw something on Facebook that Dan McNeil wishes he had a microphone...He should've thought about that a long time ago.

There's a ton of things you can point to. The defense sucked, sure. Special teams wasn't good. They had numerous unfortunate injuries.

But if Jay Cutler isn't an idiot, the Bears win that game. That's the bottom line. Jay Cutler cost them this game.

What? Jeffrey and Marshall? The two 6'4 guys? They got quite a few charity calls. The refs were handing out a ton of favors to the Bears.

I don't know about a ton, but they certainly got their share.

Again: you can point to a lot of things. But this offense goes as far as Cutler takes them, and today, that was 17 points and 3 ints.

Oh, and I know this is full-meatball, and I don't care, but: season over. This team is going nowhere. I'll bet anyone anything on that. And, in a way, it's good. I don't have to delude myself into hoping anything better. Now I can focus on deluding myself regarding the Bulls' and Blackhawks' chances.

Was anyone really expecting this team to go anywhere this year? They're nothing more than middle of the pack.

I'd hoped I was wrong about Jay, and that the defense would at least be decent; given the craziness of the NFL, who knows, then. But, it looks like neither of those things will be happening.

If Jeffrey and Marshall can play 85% next week they'll beat Frisco.

Swamipasta strikes again!

The scary part is that game tying FG by Gould to send it into OT looked kind of wobbly.

Everything will be fine. I saw a lot of positives. Even teams like the Patriots lose games that they should win. Last year Buffalo beat the Panthers the same way in Week 2. Guess which team made the playoffs? The Bears will make the necessary adjustments. The offense lost at least 4 key players.

I agree. With a few adjustments, jay getting with Marc to clean things up they'll have no problem struggling to reach 8-8 this year.

Anyone else see Briggs get blasted on the last play of the first quarter where he just looked like a schoolgirl getting blocked by a receiver?

While conte sucks, and he does, trust me you are focusing on him too much. This whole defense sucks. Fuller, Young and Ratliff were the only guys looking like they played football. Conte is a real easy whipping boy for obvious reasons but look at the rest of this team. Terrible.

Matt Forte still looks like he has at least another productive year left.

Conte had a huge interception

Offensive line was great pass blocking (even with the reserves)

Cutler was sharp before Marshall and Alshon got hurt

Defensive line looked good at times

No major errors from the coverage unit on ST

Defense only gave up 10 points that didn't come off a turnover

Weren't you predicting a Bears blowout victory?

I take it you agree with my positives. Just about everyone predicted a victory. I am pretty sure that you did. Teams occasionally lose to teams they should have beat. I'm not jumping off a ledge after a Week 1 loss.

Cutler was sharp before Marshall and Alshon got hurt BUZZ, no he didn't do much after the 1st drive. Still making stupid decisions. Defensive line looked good at times BUZZ, They gave up almost 200yards rushing and only had 1 sack. They played like shit.No major errors from the coverage unit on ST CHECK
Defense only gave up 10 points that didn't come off a turnover BUZZ 13 points! Did you not watch the OT? Pathetic Defense on that last drive.

I almost think that's a negative. If you give Cutler more than 2.5 seconds, he's going to do something stupid.

Every time you see that he's through his progression and you can tell that he's now looking around, my blood goes cold.

Cutler had 350 yards passing. The Bears were moving the ball well and were probably going to score before Marshall fumbled and Bennett forgot he was a receiver. Even the bad interception would have resulted in points scored.

I saw the overtime. Fact is the defense did ONLY give up 10 points that didn't come off a turnover. The Bears will win most weeks if they keep that up. Yards don't matter as much as points.

Cutler had a few bad throws but only 1 ended up being a mistake. He looked comfortable and in command before he was asked to trust guys who just came off the street.
