It really looked like Conte went at things either not be be concussed or afraid to lay wood for fear of penalty/suspension. Either way timid is not NFL caliber.

There's a ton of things you can point to. The defense sucked, sure. Special teams wasn't good. They had numerous unfortunate injuries.

But if Jay Cutler isn't an idiot, the Bears win that game. That's the bottom line. Jay Cutler cost them this game.

Oh, and I know this is full-meatball, and I don't care, but: season over. This team is going nowhere. I'll bet anyone anything on that. And, in a way, it's good. I don't have to delude myself into hoping anything better. Now I can focus on deluding myself regarding the Bulls' and Blackhawks' chances.

I'd hoped I was wrong about Jay, and that the defense would at least be decent; given the craziness of the NFL, who knows, then. But, it looks like neither of those things will be happening.

Everything will be fine. I saw a lot of positives. Even teams like the Patriots lose games that they should win. Last year Buffalo beat the Panthers the same way in Week 2. Guess which team made the playoffs? The Bears will make the necessary adjustments. The offense lost at least 4 key players.

Anyone else see Briggs get blasted on the last play of the first quarter where he just looked like a schoolgirl getting blocked by a receiver?

While conte sucks, and he does, trust me you are focusing on him too much. This whole defense sucks. Fuller, Young and Ratliff were the only guys looking like they played football. Conte is a real easy whipping boy for obvious reasons but look at the rest of this team. Terrible.

Matt Forte still looks like he has at least another productive year left.

Conte had a huge interception

Offensive line was great pass blocking (even with the reserves)

Cutler was sharp before Marshall and Alshon got hurt

Defensive line looked good at times

No major errors from the coverage unit on ST

Defense only gave up 10 points that didn't come off a turnover

Cutler had 350 yards passing. The Bears were moving the ball well and were probably going to score before Marshall fumbled and Bennett forgot he was a receiver. Even the bad interception would have resulted in points scored.

I saw the overtime. Fact is the defense did ONLY give up 10 points that didn't come off a turnover. The Bears will win most weeks if they keep that up. Yards don't matter as much as points.
