I really don't get it. If you asked any Bears fan before the season would they be happy with Cutler if he threw for nearly 4200 yards and had 36 touchdowns and a better than 2/1 touchdown to interception ratio they would have said yes. He's halfway to doing just that after playing probably the toughest schedule in the first half but the complaints are louder than ever.

Sure, on the surface, but let's be real: 10 of his TDs so far came during the first four games. Only two of this season' games has he thrown for more than 300 yards, and in only two of the eight games has he thrown for three or more TDs (including today, of which two were when the game was already out of hand). Not exactly someone who deserves the kind of money he's making, and probably thinks he deserves. Make a case for "Top 7" all you want, but I can name at least ten current starting QBs who I would take over him.

Stats are stats, but face it: he is an average to very-slightly above average at best. He cannot carry a team on his back, almost never can bring his team back when they are trailing, and I'm done with his "potential" and having "all the tools, he just needs to...". It's over, and he's over.

Garbage time stats and completly lacking the intagibles like leadership is why. The highest paid player in the NFL must be a difference maker who can lead and win. Jay can do neither. Reputations are deserved and Jay has earned his.
This team and organization are small time bush leagers.

With all due respect your "opinion" doesn't trump facts. Fact is he has performed better than his critics expected. Even if 10 touchdowns did come in his first 4 games he still had 8 in his last 4. Fact is there aren't 10 QBs who are having a better season. In the end wins matter most and the Bears offense has been primarily responsible for defeats in 3 games they should have won.

I count 15 QB's who I would take over Jay.

Everyone knows advanced metrics don't work in football. There are too many variables.

It's not reliable. That's why no one swears by it. Even the link that you posted says Kirk Cousins has been better. Even Cutler's biggest critics wouldn't say that.

Cutler is ranked in the top 10 in nearly every major QB statistic after having arguably the toughest schedule in the first half of the season.

You thought cutler was good today? Offense? Defense? ST? Coaching? What do you think they have to build on?

Nas is doing an excellent troll job right now.

If you didn't watch today's game and just looked at the stat line you would think Cutler played well.

No one said Cutler had a great game. No one said Cutler has been good when it mattered the past 2 weeks. Please read the threads.

Stats don't lie. You're looking at the wrong stats. Dave posted the right ones. You're using stats that have been outdated for awhile now.

Jay Cutler has turned the ball over more than any player in the NFL this year. 8 interceptions & 3 fumbles.

So looking at unreliable advanced stats are the way to go? That seems reasonable. The Bears should go out and get Ryan Fitzpatrick by tomorrow.

Nas, what the hell are you talking about? At the beginning of the season, it was a consensus that the Bears probably had more offensive talent than any team in the NFL. And yet, the Bears are 20th in points per game. 20TH! I realize you'll come back and try to blame that all on Trestman, which is total bullshit.

The offense never looks in rhythm, they have tons of 3 and outs, they keep the "D" on the field too much, and they turn the ball over too much (or at least Cutler does).

I don't know if you're trolling or not, but Cutler has played like garbage, and he is garbage. The stats you list tell us nothing. Cutler had 3 TD's and 1 INT yesterday, and I think everyone would agree that his stats yesterday are representative of nothing.

I have no idea. This years list looks pretty accurate.

As far as last years list.....of course Rodgers wouldn't be in the top 5.....last year. He missed 7 games. The Luck and Ryan rankings seem wrong.
