Why would you want Eberflus to get fired?

Because it appears he sucks

And because it appears that he has lost the respect of his team as well.

Which is why he needs to make the switch at quarterback.

We are past that point.

He's done already here, and he looks like a guy who is starting to realize that.

Nathan Peterman at Quarterback is going to inspire the Defensive players to run to the ball faster?

You play Bagent. Guys are playing for their future; you can't stick with Fields. There is little doubt in my mind he's solely held the offense back

We're not. Unless Poles is getting fired too. Eberflus still has about 5 weeks to save his job.

I agree on the timeframe, but I just don't see it happening in the next five weeks.

Eberflus has already lost his job. The pre-season and start of this season sealed his fate. Everything from this point until the end of the season is positioning for the number 1 pick in the draft.

Yeah, it's not that they are losing. I don't think Poles gave him a playoff roster. It's how they look while losing. They all look incompetent. That wasn't the case last year.

The Bears play Sunday and again next Thursday.

If we're sitting here on the 6th still debating this sort of incompetence, you have to fire Eberflus. Let the coordinators/interim HC use the 10 days off to at least attempt to get the train back on the tracks.

That 10 days will likely be used to prepare Bagent.

That's because he lost the team in the preseason. Last year he had a bunch of rookies and guys on the way out or guys used to losing on the team.

This year he has guys who have won or want to win and can see and vocalize in the locker room what a shit show the coaches are running.

What you are seeing is a team that does not respect or believe in there coaching staff. Eberflus must be fired if they are going to take a step forward.

Who's debating their incompetence as a coaching staff? It's pretty clear they are incompetent. Does anyone think Eberflus is a competent coach based on what we have seen so far and his record? If yes, then what do you like about his defense or his leadership?

And the bigger issue is he hasn't hired anyone that can make the step to being a head coach anytime soon.

He won't be the first Bears coach fired during the season.

You send a message to the team that this level of incompetence will not be tolerated. The Bears old way of doing things is in the past and this is the beginning of accountability on all levels.

They’re devoid of NFL talent at too many position groups to play the accountability card.

If Eberflus has no one on his staff that is capable of filling in as a head coach then that is another red flag against him.

They have enough talent to have beat the Packers and Tampa Bay and not lose 41-10 to the Chiefs. Somewhere along the way they should have walked into a few wins and not lost 13 straight games with no end in site. 13 straight! in todays NFL is inexcusable.

The Bears can play the injury card but the oline is currently trash.

The oline was giving Fields over 6 seconds to throw at times and he couldn't pull the trigger. How many open guys did Fields pass up yesterday? That is not on the Oline.

I’m not sure that’s true.

The most obvious football cliche is that games are won in the trenches, and the bears have dogshit on both sides of that equation (aside from Ngakoue, who they should trade asap).

I don't think the offensive line sucks, even with the injuries. I think Fields makes everyone look worse.

Has Eberflus adjusted his Cover 2 this year to account for his lack of talent on the defensive line? Did he adjust it against TB or even Mahomes when his defense was getting picked apart in Zone coverage? We rode Nagy out of town because he wouldn't adjust his scheme on offense to account for his talent level. Why does Eberflus not get the same treatment? What has he done in the NFL to earn the trust in his scheme?

Even Hahn and Kenny got axed eventually

I’ll have to see if I can find the stat that says Fields has the most time before pressure in the league

And one that can become hard to break.

They may, but management will have admitted the mistake, and made clear that a new group will be arriving for next year.

Only thing worse than losing, is sitting there and accepting it.

The combination of how this team was built (no strong emphasis on either the offensive or defensive lines) and the schemes that they run are perfect if you are looking to pick first in the draft every year.
Nobody in the organization should be without blame, but Poles set the tone this off-season with his luke-warm attempts to address the offensive and defensive lines.  I'd be surprised if anyone is fired during the season, but I'd have no problem if they're all gone next week.

My view is that Poles is a huge part of the problem. Giving him another chance at a head coach would be like reliving the Pace disaster.
