Bob I had two choices

1) See how it plays out.

2) Be a miserable SOB like yourself and complain long and loud.

Pretty easy choice.

Now, if I’m wrong, so what.

I mean the board is more fun if we all take option 2.

not providing coverage for Flus, because I'm done with him but he told everyone the most important piece of his defense, that person was miraculously available in the draft and Poles passed on him

Do you think Ebercuck could have controlled Jalen Carter? He couldn't even control a Claypool.

Even more important than Carter's character, would he be able to get the same push with trash around him? Then what is said about offensive line talent.

The plan was for Fields to succeed or draft a guy next season. You would already have a solid offensive line and at least 1 really good receiver on the roster. The defense has been secondary. Long term winning begins with the quarterback.

I had assumed that the second and third round DT's from SEC schools would have provided more push than they have this year...I'm guessing Poles felt the same way.

Way too early to grade his drafts, but not looking good so far.

I was wrong, his 2nd and 3rd Round DT's is what I should have said...will edit original post. Still though, not enough push.

That was my point. I (like Poles probably) assumed that those two SEC DT's would AT LEST be producing at an NFL competent level. They're obviously not since we're not hearing their names being said at all.

Roquan was not going to stay here, and the Bears weren't going to offer him the $ he was asking for.

Perhaps Poles' best move is actually getting something of use for a guy who was not going to be on the team this season, and here you are bashing it because you are a complete dumbfuck.

The Bears may end up with DJ Moore and the #1 pick in 2024 from the Panthers. #Robbery

Are any of his draft picks any good?

Brisker is a good football player. Just not sure he will be able to stay healthy enough to have a long impact.

Wright appears to be a solid pick.

Roschon Johnson looks to be a player.

But the overall picture of his draft picks is not very good.

Darnell Wright can run block but forget about pass protection

Twinke Toes is always hurt

I don't think Javon Brisker is good at football but I appreciate he still plays even when concussed. He will be eating out of a straw ten years from now

The one DT they drafted high this year had a great pressure on a screen when nobody blocked him

I haven't seen anything special about Brisker. He's been OK, but he doesn't seem to be developing into an impact player.

Roschon Johnson is a violent runner, which is exciting. He should be an above average back for a few years. Guys who run like he does don't tend to last very long.

I'm optimistic about Wright, but he needs to work A LOT on his pass blocking. The guy has been clowned multiple times in the past few games.

The rest of Poles' 20+ picks haven't amounted to much so far, although I do think Terrell Smith will be a nice player if he stays healthy.

Stevenson and Smith can be nice players I think.

The only play I remember from Brisker is him getting pancaked on a run play, he looks lost in coverage, still think bringing in a veteran safety that actually cares to replace Eddie Jackson makes sense.

Dexter looked OK last night, but as I have said repeatedly he is raw and it will take a year of NFL level coaching to get the best from him.

Wright will be a good offensive lineman in the league for the next decade, a nice building block.

For some odd reason Poles decided to start drafting DB's like crazy, not sure how he saw this as the only need on this team, but he keeps using pick after pick on DBs and has ignored other spots, would venture to say that his odd approach to defensive line construction has led to his young DB's having to make tons of tackles and for that reason they get hurt often.
