Right, but you guys do the same to BRick. In this thread we have people saying "Jay is a starting QB in the NFL", "Jay > Orkman", and "Jay shouldn't be released". Thats arguing against things that BRick has never said. I've never heard him say Jay isn't a starting QB, that Orton is/was better(he said their production was similar, which is true and undeniable), or Jay should be cut(assuming people didn't take this obvious satirical OP seriously).

Rick isn't making any sort of point, he's simply arguing against an imaginary thought.

I stand by Jay is a starting QB in the league. That's how I classify him. If he was a FA today, he would be starting on another team next season. I saw the word "average" to describe Jay. That's probably pretty close to accurate.

Jay is definitely better than Orkman.

OK then I guess I dont know where the disagreement is. Anyone who thinks Jay Cutler isnt good enough to start in the NFL right now is an idiot.

Some people think we should not sign Cutler and take our chances with the free agent dregs and/or low level draft picks.

 I have never said anything on this board that would make someone respond to me who thinks Jay Cutler is simply a top 32 NFL QB. Never.

The point of this thread is for the Cutler apologists who literally blame everything but Cutler for the terrible offense that the Bears have had all year, even though many of the same people would say that QB is "the most important position in all of pro sports".

Even Bears fans that don't like Cutler defend him, see Dan McNeil.

You highly exaggerate this though. Who here has not given Cutler part of the blame for things? I like Cutler. He is probably my favorite Bear player right now. But he has been bad, real bad, at times and he deserves part of the blame for things. I have yet to read anyone here who says Cutler deserves zero blame as you suggest.

I don't think you should take it so personally. I'm not talking about someone like you. You are more fair than most.

In order to save bigfan some bandwidth, I won't start posting quotes and posters, but it's not that hard to find multiple active posters that blame the OC, O line, WR's(all of them before, now all but Marshall), Matt Forte, the defense, the head coach, and then will begrudgingly admit that Cutler made a "few bad throws".

That's who I was mocking in this thread. Am I really the only one that sees that the Cutler apologist society mobilizes in full force after any loss?

I think Ghost is the only true believer that nothing is ever Cutler's fault.

Am the only one who sees the anti Cutler crowd mobilize in full force after every game whether he is good or not?

Maybe. I dunno.

But still, that's 2 people.

That's still a Bernsteinian over-reaction by Rick.

I don't think that is fair. My initial quote was that there are a lot of people who blame everything but Cutler for the terrible offense. I can find a lot of posters who have blamed these people: Tice, Lovie, Offensive Line, WR's besides Marshall, the tight ends, Forte. That is what I was referring to.

I don't think that is Bernsteinian. I think it's fairly accurate.

I don't think guys like Frank, RFDC, Bucky, et al blame everyone but Cutler. They blame everyone before Cutler.

Not always. It's not that simple. The offense is bad for a lot of reasons. Putting weight on each issue is nearly impossible, because they are intertwined so much.

I blame other peoplem not just Cutler. Rick seems to think that me saying the offense as a whole (The QB included) means I an an apologist and/or making excuses.

Its 100% out not the case, but BRick is going to believe whatever he wants.

Right. I was speaking in general.

You even said in this thread that Cutler is average.

I don't see much of a difference there. Cutler is basically the last target, and excuses are constantly made about how others are failing him.

Also, keep in mind that pretty much all criticism of Cutler comes deep into another one of these type of arguments. I don't really think RFDC is fair to lump in with Bucky and Frank. Frank has spent most of the year spouting the Bears record and Bucky Chris said that Cutler had a "very, very good game" when he literally accounted for just as many points for the Vikings as he did with the Bears.

Do you think the Bears record would be better or worse if Jason Campell was the starting QB of the bears?
