Probably some coach associated with Emery in the past.

Mully said, not sure if it was tongue in cheek, that he had received a call naming the next coach.

He will be a coordinator for someone. Not a HC.

The Bears have already asked for permission to interview Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy. He's a very, very hot name right now

It's amazing how the national guys seem to be breaking the Bears news.

Eh. I could see the local guys not wanting to break something like this so they can still have their sources for inside info on other items.

No way. Biggest Bears story of the year and you don't want to break it to keep your sources?

Lawrence Holmes is just a giddy fan of Charles Tillman and Lance Briggs and isn't to be taken seriously for having any inside information on the BearS....Dan Bernstein, with his pretend sources, of things maybe happening, or not happening isn't very informative....Terry Boers already knows everything but says nothing....Zach Zaidman is too busy sending out random Bear stats to get actual news....Sean Jensen and Brad Biggs are credible, but the national guys always have the head start on Bears news.

You really think they would pass on the biggest story since the firing of Angelo to get a scoop on something of much less significance? Doubtful. The local guys just don't the connections needed to get ahead of a story.

The bears always go cheap. I see that Shanahan kid in Washington coming our way.

I'm sure he's just one of a few names that will come out that the Bears have asked about. He's clearly a hot candidate, but I do think it's legitimate to question what sort of input he has had this season with Peyton Manning leading that offense.

There's no real reason to believe that the Bears, already on the hook for $5 million to Lovie Smith, will go after a veteran coach who will demand big money. They haven't done this in the past. Maybe things are different now, but I think the expectation is that they will sign a coordinator type who is on a "hot" list.
