Somehow with all that's happened the past 4 weeks the Bears are 0-0 with the Saints up next week. Weird.

Bad game. It happens. Let's see what happens next week.

Tough test vs. Saints.

This was a bad game all around, but I don't think the D is entirely at fault despite allowing 33 points. For example during the three straight TDs by Detroit, they only went around 77 yards total to score those 21 points. Those were short fields caused by turnovers and yet another long return that special teams gave up.

Also the Bears left too many points on the field by failing to score when in field goal range. I remember three failed end zone passes that ended up forcing the Bears to kick a FG. That's 12 points that were left on the field right there that would have changed the outlook of the game.

This is a Bears team that post game show dreams are made of.

They may very well be on their way to a sub .500 record.

Oh.the.horror.

If I got my math right it looks like the Lions averaged 44 yards per each scoring drive.

All. The. Defense's. Fault.

I'm not a guy who cares about how many yards a defense gives up; give up whatever, so as long as you limit scoring then I'm good. But in this case the average yards per scoring drive says a lot about the position the defense found themselves in after a long return and the turnovers. Still think it's unfair to pin this loss on them, unless you want to make an argument that despite starting several plays in their own territory, they could have done more.

Detroit starting a drive on the 2 probably skews the numbers a bit.

They also started scoring drives on the Chicago 22 and 32, and the 50 yard line as well. That's what the 44 yards per score reflects. Any defense will have a tough time with that kind of playing field.

Listen, we could argue about who was right and who was wrong til the cows come home.

Let's just say we're both right.

But me more so.

Yeah but the cows started their journey when they were closer to your place.

Last season some who wanted Lovie gone argued that defense does not matter in todays NFL. Just do enough to get by on defense and focus on the offense. Seems what they are doing...

Might as well move the games to the Allstate Arena. This NEW NFL blows. I love offense but not everytime a team touches the ball.

Most of the NFL is still pretty awesome to watch. If every game turns into a Peyton manning video game offense then it will in fact blow. Every rule in the league is set up to allow for him to execute that madden offense to perfection.

The one thing wrong with the NFL,is the rules committee has to "touch" it every frickin' year. There must be 5-10 rule changes every year. The league needs to give something back to the defense. Maybe bring the head slap back to the D-Line.

They need to scale back the PI. Make it legal to beat the shit out of the receivers within 20 yards and they can stop allowing holding anytime now. They clearly do not enforce holding like the used to in order to give the qb even more help.
