Frank you are struggling.

Yards 10th (will be higher after this week because Flacco hasn't had a bye)
Touchdowns 7th
QB rating 12th
1st downs 12th
Completion percentage 7th
Passing plays of 40+ yards 11th

This means he's been a top 10 QB so far. That's truly remarkable considering the injuries and terrible coaching.

Nas, you are the one who is struggling. Cutler has not had a good year. He has regressed from last year in both stats and wins. I couldn't care less about Bears franchise records. Cutler leads the league in turnovers and has not done one thing positive (so far) to help the Bears pull out of this stretch they in where they have lost 5 of their last 6 games.

Point is that you are wrong, Nas.

The stats tell me he is doing his part. It's time for others (not talking about Forte) to step up.

Its time for Cutler to step up.

I will ask you again, what has Jay done to help his team win during this 5 of 6 loss stretch?

Be in or near the top 10 in nearly every important QB statistical category. There is only so much guys like him and Forte can do.

He is also at THE top in turnovers. He has NOT been anywhere near a top ten QB the last 6 games.

I don't know how you could leave out yards per attempt, Nas. Perhaps because it doesn't suit your argument?

Cutler is 16th in this very important category.

I know you don't believe what you're saying, though.

I thought that omission was interesting as well, leash.

Yards/Attempt is a way more important stat than total yards.

Those predictable bubble screens hurt. I can't hold that against him.

You don't hold the fumbles against him either. Why are you even counting his touchdowns?

Jay Cutler is having a very good season as long as you ignore all the things that say he isn't having a very good season.

Cutler deserves praise for not being like Marshall and Rose too.

Kind of a meatball thought, but watching other teams, their receivers always seem more open. Even Miami last night that slow ass looking white guy in the slot always had 2-3 steps on a defender. Even going back last year, every downfield play seems just so damn diffcult and requires a contested catch.

I'm not sure if it's a system thing, WR's that can't get separation and have to rely on their height, Jay missing the open guy or a combination of all 3. The optics of it are just terrible,

I was wondering the same thing. How come you never , ever see other teams blow coverages against the Bears like the Bears defense does resulting in wide open receivers like Jordy Nelson was? I agree dan, it always seems like its either a contested catch , an overthrow incompletion or a pick.

I think it's the receivers and the predictable play calling.

Great. Cutler has never been to jail or hasn't killed anybody. Lets throw him a fucking parade.

Don't know about this.

His leadership ability and how he gets along with his teammates has to be one of the major issues going on with the team now. He's done Trestman no favors by not being a leader.

Cutler also deserves praise for not leading the league in INTs, like Blake Bortles.

Marshall is a complete asshole who really needs to see a doctor and Rose is by far the most selfish athlete in Chicago. He doesn't want to call or go to dinner with free agents and after signing a $100M deal he cares more about life after basketball than he does honoring his contract. In all seriousness Cutler may not be a fun guy to have a beer with but he shows up to do his job and he doesn't bring the circus with him.

I cant believe you guys are etill engaged in this debate. This is like arguing with the guy who thinks he is right and the rest of the world is wrong.

Multiple debates going on here though

Is Jay the #1 person to blame?
Is Jay not the #1 problem?
Is Jay not to blame at all?
None of the above?

Jay is not the biggest problem. Not even close. This has been my stance the entire time. Haven't changed that opinion, because I'm not wrong. Jay didn't give up 2 billion points the last 2 games. He needs to play better, no question.
The Bears have much bigger problems than their QB. But the lazy meatball opinion is just to pile on the QB for the entire team's problems. This team's defense and coaching haven't shown any positives this year. Obviously that's not the case for #6.

Nas, how much of that is due to garbage time bullshit stats due to the Bears losing by a metric fucking ton before the 1st half is over?

Cutler is a terrible and useless QB, I don't need to see any more from him to know that.

Guy has a terrific arm, but thats where everything else falls off a fucking cliff with him. He is worse than Jeff George.

Jay is the #1 problem. He is just good enough to fool you. His ability to string evaluators along results in a mindset of "we're not that far away". That's how you end up with Lamarr Houston, Jared Allen, and other overpaid veteran plugs.

When your team is rewriting the NFL record books in terms of severity of defeat, it's incumbent on the coaches to make some changes.

And usually that includes taking a long, hard look at the play of your QB.
