Exactly. Doesnt make sense. Bears reached on Floyd this year, and Fuller 2 years ago. Stop reaching and just go chalk and take the best player available.

Think about this logically: if they didn't trade up and someone took the great Leonard Floyd the consolation prize is tunsil or jack both of whom are arguably better players

Obviously they thought the Giants were gonna take him. I bet they weren't going to. Or maybe Tampa told them they had him and another guy ranked the same, would have taken him but were more than happy to take a 4th and get there other guy.

100% agree. If you like three players and are picking in the next three spots, there's no need to trade up. Now you've thrown away a fourth round pick which while rarely producing HOFers, does produce solid guys that can help a team out for 6-8 years.

How bad is Jack's knee? I don't know anything about the draft this year but after the Bears' luck, I wouldn't go near a known injured player.

Regardless of whom the Bears drafted, this has to go down as one of the worst draft decisions ever to give up nearly a top 100 pick to move up just two positions for a guy that probably would have been at 11 anyway.

They drafted scared and lost.

You just know a team like the steelers will sit back and let a value like tunsil fall to them. Not the Bears. We have to be stupidly aggressive

Thing is, I can see why they wouldn't want to be left with Tunsil or Jack out of those 3.


Remove the question marks from both Jack and Tunsil and it's a no brainier at 11 -but removing those questions also means this isn't even a conversation because those 2 are long gone before 11.

I know mid round picks are valuable, but with 9 total picks giving up a 4th rounder to move up 2 spots and get YOUR guy isn't a bad decision in and of itself. The trading up factor here isn't significant. If he can play, good pick and good decision. If he can't, bad and bad.
