The trailer is awesome.

Maybe they can run it every Sunday for the next 4 months...

You'll have to wait until 2046.

Every one of you Gen Y'ers and beyond can go fuck yourselves. This is the football equivalent of the 27 Yankees and too fucking bad if you're tired of hearing about it. Get your mouths shut, jerks.

I hope they talk about the time they recorded the Super Bowl Shuffle.

new approach to this, bring in a bunch of out of town stupid celebs and have them praise the team.

nothing in that trailer was new information... the poor dead horse is gone beyond recognition

do a documentary on beardown before you do anymore on 85 bears

no they're not. the 1928 yankees won the world series meanwhile the 86 bears love to whine about buddy ryan, hollywood mike ditka, and of course in the end it's really all doug flutie's fault (with an assist to hollywood mike, of course) cuz seriously FUCK THAT MIDGET!

the 1985 bears = one hit wonder. the 1927 yankees = van halen (won in 27. 28, 32 and then came back as van hagar and won in 36. 37. 38, 39. 41, and 43 (then idk how/if this metaphor still works when you bring up 47, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 56, 58, 61, and finally 62, which has you covered all the way up until 1977-- #LeanYears, eh? =)

so uhhhhh yeah.... you know, just a WEE BIT of difference between those 85 bears and the 27 yankees, unless you wanna say that the 85 bears were just the most dominant group of human beings to ever do any kind of group activity in the whole of human history, then of course i'll drink to that!

(and yes, your sarcasm was duly noted and immediately cast aside because the stick up my ass was feeling a bit chatty, what can i say?)

From the last time we did this thread, which was only less than seven months ago:

Dave In Champaign wrote:

"Querulous pissbabies" has stuck with me ever since, so I guess that's a silver lining.

Sorry, boys but I'm all in.

I'll admit that there are numerous specials and documentaries about this team. However, as I have stated before in other threads, I was overseas in the Navy during all of this and missed out.

My family taped the games, post game stuff and mailed out newspapers, etc. to me. I was always a week behind but it was great nonetheless.

I'm a sucker for this Bears stuff and I stand guilty as charged.

yeah, for anyone who doesn't get the "written on the door" thing the Empty Bottle will write the names of the band/s playing that night on their door in something temporary like chalk, ergo the whole Matt Speagol Schtick(TM) and rah rah rah blah blah blah.

I flipped it on. It's some TBA show on architecture?

These shows are starting to make me sad. I loved football for so long but don't anymore. The Bears used to be so great but they've been so terrible for so long.

Yeah, it's not on. They're showing one of the Geoffrey Baer shows about Chicago history/architecture, which are all great, but I was kind of looking forward to seeing what this Bears thing was like.

My guy tells me rescheduled for Wednesday, September 7 at 8 pm.

Due to technical difficulties...

Preempting football for architecture is like someone at Window To The World woke up and realized "what the fuck, we're supposed to aspire to something here."

It's on now.

So far I have seen:

Bill Murray -- Fuck off. Soldier's Field?
Michael Wilbon -- Fuck off.
Rick Telander -- You know you're going to be on TV, maybe run a comb through your hair.
Jeremy Piven -- Fuck off.
Barak OBAMA -- Fuck off.
Jesse Jackson -- Fuck off.

If Bonnie Hunt makes an appearance, I'm done.

In the intermission Bonnie Green, who should really stop doing her hair and makeup in the dark, referred to Otis Wilson as a Hall of Famer. He had to awkwardly correct her.

There was a couple stories that I had not heard before. Most of the celebrity commentators were bogus. Crazy to give that much time to Jesse Jackson.

They probably could have focused more on the actual stats with more live game footage.

Otis Wilson in the Hall of Fame. That was a faux pas for sure.

Bonnie Hunt is waiting for the 2046 Cubs WS documentary.

I watched about 10 minutes. Half of it seemed to be Jessie Jackson talking from inside a church. Kind of ironic that Jessie seemed to know so much about the 85 Bears when presumably he is and was otherwise fully occupied on Sundays.

It's the kid thing that does it. I haven't watched every moment of every game in at least a decade. Hell, even back in school I'd neglect work to watch the games. Now, Sundays just aren't free time.
