As much as it makes me nauseated to defend Rick, what is your alternative? MANY seasons of 7-9?

He looks more like a volleyball player than a football player.

Do you think this move gets them better than that?

The alternative was to keep Cutler at less, and immediately cuttable money and draft a QB...or sign a journeyman at 6 million and draft a QB while loading up on D in FA.

Now, they both need to draft a QB and have less money to load up (that will change but it opens another hole at WR).

In my opinion, the best move would have been to take a journeyman and sign Gilmore and Jeffery (lots of reservations about Jeffery ).

Glennon may have been better than he seemed.

It's all about the guaranteed money. If they can get rid of him easy it is a low risk move. Ideally you want your rookie QB to sit next year. The Rams saw the pressure to play Goff.

That is true, but I doubt that $20 guaranteed is off the books in 2017.

This is most likely what Glennon gives you.

Any word on what he's getting per year? Not a terrible signing if the money is right, I guess.

earlier this morning on the scored they discussed a different angle. They floated that this was reminiscent of Andy Reid in Philly. The idea being they will gather QB's as assets. Sign Glennon, draft one this year, keep Shaw and maybe even draft another next year. One hopefully rises above the others and perhaps the others become tradeable assets after that.

Reports are 14.5 a year. Now the waiting for front loaded and guaranteed money figures. I'm guessing 20 million guaranteed.
