How do you go the entire offseason without realizing you need surgery? I'm not a professional athlete, but I hurt my knee on spring break. I got it checked out, MRI, and arthroscopic surgery within a month.

Shouldn't he have had a similar course of action MANY months ago? How does it happen that the day he reports to camp that they decide he needs surgery? What was going on with him in, for example, in April or May?

I feel the same way about Kyle Long--why isn't he ready to go?

He's just broken. Hard to fault the guy.

The Bears are a much worse team than they were last year.

But how do you get surgery on the FIRST day of training camp? My point is shouldn't someone have seen this coming? If you're a pro athlete?

You get to camp and realize, "oh crap, my knee hurts. I better go get surgery today."

He wants to miss training camp.
