Soooo yeah the defending super bowl chumps come into town ready to kick off the Glenda-era in style! The Bears are sure gonna play 16 games this season, probably should win a few of them, and uhhh when does Mitch get in there? We're all waiting with baited breath, no doubt!

I got the bears going 7-9 with a possible 9-7 upside and uhhh, basically, I just wanna see (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky hearken that 2015 bears team where we can win some games that we're not supposed to win (hopefully without losing too many games that we should win) and uhhhh yeah.... Jordan Howard! Akiem Hicks! Pernell McPhee! Bears!

Anyone else going tomorrow? I'll be there and I've got something like a .600-700+ winning % when I go to games, so what the hell let's shock the world and/or hope for catching Mitch's NFL debut while we're there, eh?

(And as always, re: the potentially social aspect of this post please remember my current signature quote and keep all hands and/or personal belongings inside of the tram at all times! =)

This will be a tough one. Glennon has played well against the Falcons so anything can happen.

Yeah but don't those stats fall into the bit where Glenda did crazy good #s when his Bucks were either up 17+ or down 17+?

I've been fortunate to go to enough opening weekend games over the years to where I have seen the bears come out of nowhere and, for example, beat a solid/decent Bengals team...Hell I think I've also seen them beat these FailCones in week 1 too? The Bears are usually pretty darn good in week 1 homo-preneurs =P

And are we gonna anoint these FailCONs as anything more than solid/decent? Maybe just plain ol good? They definitely aren't a great team by any means, and yes I was legit shit talking the falcons up 28-3 in the super bowl like "they ain't thst good... They're the football KC Royals-- they win only if no other good teams rise up and take the title... They're just massively overrated, especially on defense!" Of course I ended up drawing the ire of a patsies fan who called me "retarded" ~15 times in appx 10mins and proceeded to ragequit IRC @ 28-3.... Literally under 5mins from NE scoring their first TD!

...and how did that turn out? Did I have a point there? 8) 8)

I ain't a big prediction guy but if the bears win this it'll be something like

Beloved 27
FailCones 24

And that's because the defense has a good game and Glenda does a pick-6/sack+fumble+TD (whether all in one play or giving ATL the ball in the red zone once)

I think the Falcons win BUT if the Bears win it will be 17-13. Glennon will have a mistake free day and the Bears defense will be great.

That's really all I can come up with for why the Bears won't get destroyed today. They're outclassed in every facet by the Falcons.

The other potential reason for hope is that the Falcons are coming off the Super Bowl and are coming to Chicago against one of the league's worst teams last year. Bears should have the emotional advantage.

In 2007, the year after they lost the Super Bowl, I think they went to San Diego and got roughed up pretty good the first game.

This is very relevant to the game today. Thanks for sharing

I'll go 28-10 Falcons. Don't see them pulling a Chiefs like victory out over the Falcons.

Glennon gets hurt and Mitch comes in to throw for two and run for one.

Bears 24-21.

I think you're gonna need to light more than a candle for that one. :)

Falcons 27 Bears 10

Glennon with 2 pics and gets booed vociferously. At least 1 Bear goes down with a serious injury.

Dowell Loggains continues to be as inept as ever. Floyd with at least 1 booming hit.

Bears set to seal the deal in the fourth quarter but Fox fails to show fire and passion on the sidelines. As a result, Glennon throws a pick six and the Bears lose. Falcons 20 Bears 13.

Most effective tackle so far comes from the great turf.
