Actually he thought Howard could run in a direction that have 4th string defenders and gain a few yards but Howard gained 0.

Perhaps a valid excuse for an individual decision to run the ball. To have the hot hand at QB and not pass it once in OT (or on your final possession of the 4Q) is inexcusable.

Fortunately the first play on offense in overtime was a completion to Burton.
