Can't wait to hear why you showed up injured the night before the biggest game of the year.

I didn't blame the Week 17 loss on Kendricks and Rhodes being out. It is a bad look to blame the loss on a TE injury.

The Eddie Jackson injury proved to be huge. Foles was throwing ducks and still beating Amos. I think two of them would have been either broken up or intercepted by jackson

Does Nagy trust this guy less? I'm guessing with a healthy Adam Shaheen, well be seeing Shaheen a lot more

It's a bit early for a guy his age, but once you've had one and have reached a certain age, every so often another one can pop up almost out of the blue. Not fun.

He's a second round pick about as useless as the kid who could jump out of a pool 6-8 years ago. But was also a 2nd rounder as well. Iirc.

On Mac & Parkins, Grote hinted it could’ve been an anxiety issue, which he’s had in the past. Not what most fans want to hear. I’d rather hear he pulled it romancing his wife.

He said he had a small groin issue on Friday that he did not report because it really didn't feel that bad, but after waking up on Saturday, he couldn't do anything wiht his groin without pain. Team was notified and they tried treatments (what specific treatments are unclear) and as of Saturday night, they still hadn't resolved the issue.

Yeah I would say if that is true and Grote tells that the Bears will not be happy.

Not sure I buy it tho. You do fine playing in a Superbowl, but have anxiety in a wild card weekend game?

Definitely looking like Pace doesn’t know shit about kickers or tight ends. Seems to be alright other than that though.

I don't remember this story, but apparently it happened on one of Nagy's gadget plays earlier in the season:

Quote:
At one point during the Chicago Bears regular season, tight end Trey Burton admitted anxiety played into him not being the passer on a trick play down near the goal line. Burton was surprisingly added to Chicago's injury report the night before the Wild Card playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles, prompting some to wonder what caused the late addition. Head coach Matt Nagy said after Chicago's loss on Sunday that Burton woke up with a groin injury on Saturday morning and the team had to make the decision to not activate him on Sunday.

Burton met with the media on Monday morning and noted he does not think his anxiety issues had anything to do with what happened over the weekend.

“I was in a really good spot mentally going into this game,” Burton said, via JJ Stankevitz of NBC Sports Chicago. “I was extremely excited to play my former team. And obviously a playoff game as well. I was really looking forward to competing with those guys that I played with for four years. I don’t think — you know, I thought about it. I just don’t think it had anything mentally to do with it. But, it’s over now.”

Burton began his career with the Eagles and threw a touchdown in last year's Super Bowl. When he had the opportunity to throw a pass this year, he noted the anxiety and mental stress of the situation kept him from being able to do it. In a loss to the New York Giants back in Week 13, the Bears installed a play in which Burton would throw a pass. He later had to tell Nagy he was not comfortable doing it.

"We installed the play and when they put it on the board I got crazy anxiety," Burton said at the time, via Josh Frydman of WGN News and CLTV. "I was kind of freaking out a bit because a ton of unbelievable memories come to mind from the Super Bowl. And we were playing the Patriots at the time, we wanted to run it then. I just remember going out not really saying much, going out to practice and trying to do it. I just couldn't. Physically, there was some type of block, wasn't letting me do it."

He then continued:

"I told Nagy, 'Hey coach, I'm having crazy anxiety,' I couldn't sleep that night thinking about it. There were so many really good memories, but I'm not there anymore, I'm on a different team doing something different. I just didn't feel comfortable. Thankfully he said no 'big deal, I appreciate you letting me know' and 'Reek' was able to do it."

The play eventually was run late in the game with running back Tarik Cohen throwing a pass to wide receiver Anthony Miller in the end zone.

Yeah very true....that was a silly comment on my part. I hope it wasn't anxiety for his sake. That would be miserable

It was the play when Cohen threw the TD pass late in the season. He said from the philly special in the SB, he couldn't do it.

This is the NFL. Sorry, but when it comes to winning there is no time for feelings. Figure your shit out or get the fuck out.

On a personal level, I do feel bad for his anxiety issues and hope he gets help...but I have no time for it as a it relates to the Bears.
