An opportunity to take a look at backups, especially at LT, OLB, CB, and WR. Bears can clear a ton of cap room by moving on from Floyd, Burton, Shaheen, Gabriel, Daniel, Dix, Long, and Amukamara, so why not see if guys behind them on depth chart can actually play. Hearing a ton of pro Mitch spin on WSCR lately from beat writers and "Bears experts", which leads me to believe they are trying to prep the fan base for bringing back Mitch at QB1 next year. Highly doubt Nagy brings in a quality vet at QB because a vet would likely laugh at his offensive game planning, if Nagy has shown anything this year it's his inability to develop and execute offensive game plans and an inability to make in game adjustments.

This.

Normally with as far out a shot as what they're looking at, and knowing this team, I'd say fuck it and see what you can do to tank for a better draft spot. But the Raiders have their first round pick...fuck it...go for it. Open the play book and get crazy.

I was shocked to hear a writer over the weekend say that the chances are more likely than not that Pace gives (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky a 5th year during the off season.

The Bears have already moved on from Long.

The Bears don't have a ton of cap money tied up in Shaheen, Floyd, Gabriel, Daniel or Dix.

They are already playing every young linebacker on their roster.

Ridley finally played WR last Sunday.

I think I heard the same...and it would cost $24m or so for that 5th year. Which means Pace will sign him to a five year extension and say they saved money.

I'm shocked how it's suprise to some that Mitch will be back next year. People really need to educate themselves on the salary cap/rookie contracts. Whether Mitch plays for the Bears next year, is cut, is traded, or is shipped off to Pakistan, he will count 15 million against the cap in 2020.

Two things are evident after watching over the past few years. Defense has been consistently in the top 10 and offense has gone from bottom third to bottom 5. Mitch has a career passing rating of 86.6, not exactly living up to his draft status. The point is that we have enough data, the weak spots in this team are evident and seemingly fixable with a few smart moves in free agency and with the wise use of two second round draft picks. However, with Pace/Nagy showing unreasonable optimism with their draft picks and a glaring weakness in the self scouting department, they likely trot out a similar team next year.

Auto-correct on my phone. I guess with your RAIDERS season in the toilet you have resorted to following me around like a lap dog.

Didn't they also have HRC as a shoe-in over Trump?

Hillary lost because she lost Wisconsin and Bears season ends next week in Green Bay, so may play out in a similar fashion.

Last four games should be... boycotted.

Even with the NFC East as a tire fire, there is no way they get two wild card teams out of the Central.

No way. I wanna see the Bears starters in all four games so we see our A team lose by 14 + points in 3 of the 4 games. The Bears can't compete when the opposing team has a top 15 QB.
