I agree he is a decent pick, but TE was definitely not our number 1 priority at pick 43.

This isn't even arguable. Coach Visor got another toy in his quest to be the Chiefs. I was hoping 8 hours sleep would help but I'm still pissed.

I have learned that the more you expect from Nagy and Pace, the more disappointment you will suffer. Just expect nothing and the worst from them, and take any positive as a blessing. Until we have a new GM-Coach, this is the standard we are living with.

Yes, but not as our first pick. Picking a TE as our first pick is basically Pace and Nagy admitting that signing Graham was stupid.

We got the best TE in the draft, this guy was a good pick. Graham was a terrible signing.

Agreed on all points. However, just because we got the best TE, does not mean it was our top priority. The "best player available" approach does not work for a team lacking in so many areas.

We'll see, I like the pick. Think he'll be here for 7 or 8 years.

Graham wasn’t a terrible signing from the perspective of mentoring Kmet -the other 8 or 9 dudes the Bears went out and got on top of this does shine a big ass spotlight on the fact that Pace doesn’t have a plan, and cannot properly evaluate talent. Which is troubling considering just how much of the GM job rides on both of those things and a GM being good at them.

I would be more on board with this draft pick if we just had Graham and Kmet, and not the stock pile of TEs Pace has accumulated.

Yeah, if all gaping holes are equally needed. I do not believe TE was our top gaping hole.

Kmet was Pace's BPA no matter what. Ignore the fact that he also drafted Adam Shaheen in the 2nd round.

Delpit, Winfield, Hamler, or Claypool all would have been better picks.

Who had Kmet as the best player available?

I was surprised Cleveland was still there. His tape looks good. They talk about his supposed lack of strength but I didn't see it on his tape and he did 30 reps at the combine which is damn good for a player that tall.

I was hoping they grab Denzel Mims with that 2nd pick.

Yeah I was thinking Mims and Chinn but Cleveland would have plugged the biggest need on the roster IMO. The tackles look pretty scary to me. Maybe Pace has a plan involving Saahdiq Charles.

I was thinking Mims and Chinn because I didn't believe he would take an offensive lineman after the dumpster diving he did in offseason.

It's fair to say why can't we just wait and see how this guy is before making a judgement on the pick. (I wish they would have drafted someone else) Kyle Long turned out to be a great pick. Multiple Pro Bowls, and a leader in the locker room too.

And comparing a guy who played at Ashland to a guy that played at ND is a stretch.

But so are MOST of pace's picks so far.
