Jay Glazer Tweeted today that the Bears never even made an offer. I'm not particularly upset about not getting him, even though the price ended up being pretty affordable.

I think we should wait back and see how the QB market plays out. If someone falls in the draft, scoop him up. If not, Mitch is open to a return and there are any number of QB of his level of competence on the market.

Tag and trade Robinson if the market is healthy enough to get a second. If not, keep him around.

Mitch has no interest coming back. They messed him up.

Two draft picks and taking on $100 million in salary for the 30th best QB in the NFL is affordable?

Are you Ryan Pace?

I’ve no comment on how Wentz will do in Indy -I do not believe we have the coaching and brain trust here to repair him tho.

That said..

The draft has always been the best path for this upcoming year to see if they can get something at the QB position. Not Wentz, not Matt Stafford, not Cousins, or a pie in the sky deal for Watson.

Draft a QB, develop him (even tho I have my doubts they can develop a guy).. and show progress and that you’re finally headed in the right direction and that could save their jobs (doubtful, but possible).

This regime needs to do the opposite of what it’s been doing for years now. Be patient, don’t panic, don’t overdue it, and don’t overthink it. Asking a lot, I know.

Btw.. what’s everyone’s take on Big Ben possibly being out in Pittsburg? He played well last year but I think he’s a big cap hit right now.

If he were to become available, interested..?

I personally would take a hard look, but the cap situation has to be on point.

Big Ben would be great just for the fact that it would drive the red hippo INSANE!!!

But realistically I dont see it, maybe for one year and draft someone as well?

Kurt Cousins had a better year than Big Ben. BR is all short passes these days and while he’s a step up from Foles he doesn’t seem like a good fit for the Bears offense IMO.

Even if Wentz ends up being better in Indy, I have no confidence the same would have been true here.

I entirely agree with you on the draft route. However, with Jones now looking like he is shooting up boards, the only guy we can really target at #20 is Trask, and I don't know if he is a first round talent. I guess I could see Trey Lance dropping because, despite people pretending to be knowledgeable, I don't think anyone knows exactly what he is. You are drafting the equivalent of a junior college quarterback
