What was the actual fiasco here?

Reports that the Bears will fire Nagy after the Lions game has been denied through other reports.

I don't know that I would be responding to every report/rumor.

This was a clear case of bad public relations. A first class org crushes the rumor before it metastatizes, or prevents the leak in the first place. It doesn't allow a random ST coach to be the first Bears official addressing a bombshell report. Absolute chaos.

The only way to unbury all this is to go the Ricketts or Wirtz route and hire a seasoned, well known executive and give that person full autonomy to fix what ails the franchise- scouting, player development, coaching hires, salary cap management, marketing, etc. Top to bottom fixes.
