Very dumb NFL campaign that grants marketing rights for certain teams to specific countries. Good news is the beloved get two countries: the football fanatics of the UK and España. Also the Pack are frozen out. Bad news?

- bears have to share each country
- nobody gives a shit about football in Spain
- no Poland for the bears? Seriously?
- roger goodell seems to have resolved the thorny China/Taiwan issue

Regardless, if the Beloved get a road game in Barcelona I am IN.

yeah this is really stupid. And if you are going to do this, why would one of the more popular franchises in your league not get assigned to a country?

They are also the only team to never have played an international game. But that will change.

That is some bullshit. Every year they have an international game why don't they sell some more worthless "shares" in the team to make up the difference. What a racket.

The Green Bay Packers sold 138,000 shares in the first week of the sixth stock sale in team history.

The sale began Nov. 16 with 33,000 shares sold in the first three hours and 110,000 in the first day and a half. After one week, 46% of the 300,000 available shares were sold. The sale is scheduled to continue to Feb. 25, 2022, or until all shares are sold.

During the previous sale, in 2011, the team offered 250,000 shares at $250 each and added another 30,000 after about three weeks. It also extended the sales period. In the end, the Packers sold 269,000 shares that year and raised $67.4 million.

Shares this time sell at $300, plus a $35 handling fee, which means $46 million was taken in since the start of the sale.

It's a great grift when the people love being grifted.

Possibly, but at least at Wrigley you can watch a game, fill your stomach and get drunk. What do you get out of a share other than maybe hang it on your wall somewhere to prove to everyone that comes over what an idiot you are.

When this all started they said they wouldn't give up a home game to go play overseas. Now the problem comes in that none of their opponents want to give up the home game when the Packers come in because they know the crowd they are guaranteed to get.
