Bears 27 Rams 13

This should be one of the easier games of the year at home against an opponent that is beat to hell. I think the Bears score three touchdowns in the first half. Too big of a hole for the Rams to climb out of on the road.

Eberflus/Waldron will get out coached in this one. Bears lose.

Hopefully Caleb continues to show progress.. he won’t throw for 350+ yards tho. Hope to see some improvement on the deep ball and his connection with Odunze. I think the defense will have its hands full with Stafford and the Rams play calling so I don’t see the defense keeping this close if the offense can’t give them some help.

Bears cover the 2-1/2. Probably easily. All the stars seem lined up. Keenan Allen done running errands or whatever he's been doing?

The defense struggles stopping the run and covering tight ends. You would think Eberflus can solve that problem. My guy Purdy had his way while working with trash. In his 4th game, Caleb should be able to produce some points.

And he's a willing blocker. Waldron's not a fan, I guess.

I’ve seen this movie a half dozen times at this point. A crucial plot point is the meaningless good game against a dead on arrival opponent that drives the hype to all time high levels.

In which a game between the #2 and #3 markets is basically limited to the home markets, secondary markets, a city in the Bears' division where the other team's quarterback used to play, and residual haters in St. Louis.

TBF, the map seems fairly standard considering the markets of the other five games. LV getting PHI/TB over the rams is interesting, as is the secret commune of bears fans in Omaha.

Referee Assignment for Bears vs. Rams is Bad News for Chicago

The time for dwelling on the Chicago Bear's Week 3 loss to the Indianapolis Colts is over. The Bears must turn their attention to the NFL Week 4 schedule as they prepare to host the LA Rams at Soldier Field on Sunday.

A lot of factors go into deciding the outcome of any given game, including when it comes to who's officiating the contest. While a referee's decision doesn't 100% decide an outcome, the way they officiate the game — good or bad — can play a big role in who wins and loses.

The referee for this weekend's Rams vs. Bears collision was revealed earlier this week and, unfortunately, it's bad news for Matt Eberflus' team.

Controversial referee Brad Rogers will be making the calls when the Bears host the Rams on Sunday, per Brad Biggs of The Chicago Tribune. The veteran official has earned a reputation for making more penalty calls than a good chunk of his peers.

During the 2024 NFL season, Rogers called a whopping 211 penalties across 18 games between the regular season and playoffs. That was the most penalties he's called since he tallied 242 during the 2018 campaign.

Rogers also averaged 12.4 penalties and 103.7 penalty yards per game, which were both noticeably above the league average. In fact, he's called more penalties than the average NFL referee in six of his first seven seasons.

While Rogers' penalty calls are below the league average in 2024, he still throwing out flags more often than fans like. Through the first three weeks, he's averaging 13 penalty calls per appearance — on pace for his most since 2019 — for an average of 102.6 yards.

The Bears are currently averaging the 6.7 penalties per game (T-18th) while the Rams have been slightly more disciplined (5.3, T-8th). If Chicago can't play a clean came and Rogers' habits continue, it might be a long day for fans in the Windy City.

Even if this weekend's referee assignment isn't the most encouraging, it isn't all bad news for Chicago. The Bears are still the current 3-point home favorites over the Rams on FanDuel Sportsbook.

I know the Rams are supposed to be bad.. but how in the world are the Bears favored against anyone right now?

Being at home and defense.

They're going to need to stop the run and run the ball effectively. It looks like the wind may be a problem.

Its the Windy City.. Calebs going to have to learn how to play in these elements if he's going to be successful here (unless a dome is built soon).

The next Bears quarterback will also play at Soldier Field.

I really do not like blitzing Stafford ever. He will pick you apart, you have to get pressure with four.

They’re blitzing and not getting to him. They better change the game plan pretty quick.

All the Rams receivers are hurt. Just drop back and force him to hold the ball, trust Dexter or Sweat to beat their man. It worked there.

Blitzing is the dumbest idea, he will just go to his hot read which is what he’s been doing for fifteen years in this league. I’d imagine they’ll abandon the blitz.

Stafford still looks good. D looked incredibly soft most of that drive until the sack.

Booker might be my new favorite player who’s probably not that good but I’ll overvalue him anyway.
