They gotta get down and dirty. The Rams and 49ers both will likely miss the playoffs this year. I know those two coaches are under contract. But Poles has to back channel this shit. Reach out to their agent to see if they want to leave for the chance to coach Caleb Williams. I know it's tampering and all that shit. But try to get away with it.

Have those two coaches go to their owner. Say they'd like to leave or quit. All along knowing they want the Bears job. You'll have to give them like a 3rd round pick because they are under contract. Or maybe even a 2nd round pick. I would fucking do it.

This has happened before. I think the Bucs had to give the Raiders a pick for Gruden. I'm pretty there are one or 2 other examples of this that I can't think of right now.

Try to get Kyle Shannahan or Sean McVay.

Both might actually want to leave for the Bears if you show them you love them. Stafford is old and getting older. Purdy is Purdy and they're gonna have to pay him like he's a top 3 QB. Which he's not. Which means no money for anybody else and the team will now suffer cuz of his pay day. Neither of those teams are gonna be bad enough to get the 2 or 3 good QBs in this draft.

Shannahan and McVay would love to have a cheap great QB for the next 3 years. With money being spent on other great players. And then once you have to pay him, he literally will be a top 3 QB and worth it.

That's what the Bears need to do. And I know I first one to think about this and suggest it.

No, you aren't.

It's easy to say that. But George doesn't interfere with shit. This notion that the Bears are cheap is bullshit. Literally, every NFL team spends the same amount of money on players. There is a salary cap, and yes, a floor. But the lowest spending team and the highest spending team are about 5 million apart. The Packers spend pretty much the same as the Cowboys. The Bills spend the same as the Giants. Jaguars spend the same as the Bears. People don't understand this, but it's true.

There are two things that separate good teams from bad teams. A top 5 QB, that is paid a shit load of money, and they're good. Or, a team with a cheap QB on a rookie deal, that's somewhere between 3-10, and they are also good. Everybody else sucks.

Right now, with out thinking too much, I would say Caleb Williams is about the 12th or 13th best QB in the NFL. Which means we suck. But next year, I believe he will be top 5 on his rookie deal.

Not even the 1st one on this board to suggest it (as Franky T pointed out).. but its also been mentioned other places online as well.

I do think both would be great fits if available tho for sure. They also fit the 'personality' the Bears brass seems to covet being that they aren't larger than life loud mouth type personalities.

The big issue the Bears will have to deal with if either (or both) of these guys becomes available is that at least two other charter NFL franchise jobs will most likely be open too.. Dallas and NY.

Now Dallas comes with an obvious huge issue in Jerry Jones, but Dallas is arguably the most desired job in the NFL. The Giants won't have the same issue and have the bright lights of NYC to back it up.. well ok, Jersey but still..

The Bears would have to throw the world at either guy to land them. Caleb is obviously a huge bargaining chip that a coach like Shanahan or McVeigh would love to work with, while Dallas has Prescott who is talented but aging.

In any event, if either guy becomes available you run as fast as you can in their direction screaming 'shut up and take my money'

I will grant that there can be exceptions. Joe Burrow is a top 3 QB being paid a shit load of money and their team sucks. Like I said, exception to the rule. But like the Bears, they've lost so 3 or 4 close games that came down to the end this year.

I don't think Dallas is that desirable (also not a charter franchise, they came into the league around the same year +/-1 as the Vikings). Dak Prescott is declining and, as you said, the Jerry Jones factor makes it a mess. They haven't made a big splash at head coach since Parcells. I could see the Giants picking up McVay or Shanahan, though.

Speaking of Dallas, here is someone no one is talking about (for good reason) but I can see getting a look: Jason Garrett.
