This is a way out there thought, but I was trying to figure out a running back for the bears maybe to pick up to back up Benson. I realize there is no chance for this. How about a trade with Atlanta who desperately needs quarterbacks now that Schaub and Vick are gone and Harrington's back up is hurt.

Kyle Orton and Adrian Peterson for Jerious Norwood.

How far off am I?

Edit: or Orton and a future draft pick? I don't think Norwood would ever be a 25 carry a game back so he requires another running back, he was a third round pick himself, and is listed as the backup to warrick dunne.

ATL wouldn't have a RB that they would feel comfortable with pounding the ball. Plus, when Dunn does come back, Peterson is also a smaller back so there is some duplication there.

If the Bears did move Orton/Griese, I think the Bears would, more than likely, get a draft pick in return.

Yeah I would agree with BD, Angelo seems to like trading for later round picks, presumably because he has a very good eye for talent and is one of the best at getting the most value out of a 5th, 6th rounder

Joe, you are very, very far off. They would give you Dunn before Norwood...and they are not giving you Dunn.

Be patient. There will be a team that cuts a decent back. I could see someone like Ron Dayne or Samkon Gado in Houston. One of those two will definitely be available as Green will start and they would probably keep Lundy. Neither of those guys is a regular starter but both can do in a pinch for a week or two if Benson is hurt.
