Nas is slacking.

Griese has a great game. 24/35 240 yds, 3 TDs, 1 INT

Benson sucks. 17 carries, 51 yds, 0 TDs

Hester scores a TD on special teams or receiving.

Bears defense plays its best game since Week 1.

Bears 27 Lions 6.

I see the Bears' tackling form from the Minnesota game has returned...

That had to be one of the stupidest pass interferences of all time. I don't get what the fuck he was thinking, just taking Roy Williams out. It's not as if Williams was running full speed or something; there's no reason in the world to not make a play on the ball there.

That's assinine. No statistic is more variable from year to year than field goal percentage. Look at Neil Rackers. There is almost zero correlation for field goal accuracy from one year to the next. A couple of misses doesn't negate that. Plus. Gould has one of the strongest kickoff legs in the NFL, which is the most undervalued asset in football.

Yet he cant even attempt a 50 yard field goal...

Well, Benson was running well; time to put in AP for no reason.

Did you see that overthrow to Olsen? Griese had a "where the fuck is that 4.51 speed" look on his face.

Once again, the offense is having a difficult time getting untracked.

Sure he can. Look at the one he hit to beat the Seahawks last year. Not kicking 50-yard field goals, except in game winning situations, is a matter of good strategy. Going for it or punting is almost always better in the long run.

It is the 2nd quarter though, and the Bears have played Peterson a lot this season in that quarter.

I really hope they hold Benson accountable - we are halfway through the season, and we don't have a running game with Benson back there. I'd give Peterson extended touches.

True. Its almost embarrassing how bad Benson is at breaking one tackle and/or spotting the open hole.

That being said, its good that the Bears are sticking with the run. Whether its working or not, you gotta stick with it. If they continue to do so, they will also have continued success in the PA department with their TE's.

definitely selling out Rex but theres a reason that when every D player in the NFL was polled on which QB in the NFL gets the most easily intimidated, Rex won conviningly over 2nd place Eli.

I don't agree with this - if the run game doesn't work, the play action won't be respected. I agree they need balance in their offense, but my time/patience has run thin on Benson - again today, not much is happening, just what he's done all season - 10 carries for 29 yards so far.

Griese was telling the truth though, the Bears did need leadership. Now they need the headset to stop working again, so he can call his own plays.

That INT was forced. Bradley was doubled, and that throw should have never been made. Bad decision.

They didnt have a running game vs the Packers and the PA passes are what won them the game. I know the Packers are one of the worst defenses in the NFL at defending the PA due to their aggressiveness, but its still been shown to work.

I think the biggest thing he has questioned is the identity of this offense - Lovie says it's a running team, and while they do run the ball, they don't have any success running the ball. Their success has come through the passing game this season.

Even though it's hurting us, I have to admit that I'm amused by the the crazy kick-offs that the Lions are employing (just knowing that they most likely spent a LOT of time last week working on them).

PS thanks for the replay on that Clark "maybe" catch.

Griese isn't the leader of the offense. Olin will be the leader until he retires or leave. I've never heard anyone questioning his leadership. That wasn't only a shot at Grossman that was another shot at the offense. When I listen to quarterbacks speak (especially new QB's) I never hear them taking shots at their entire team. That's not the sign of a leader that's the sign of a guy that everyone will turn on.

bullshit. Olin has as much leadership quality as George Bush.

13-0 at the half....glad our offense showed up today. Kitna, after nearly throwing 2 INT's early, has really settled in as well.

What's with those kickers (Longwell and Hanson) who aren't known for their long distance kicking knocking down 50+ FG's in Chicago ?

going back a minute...

why did Greise call that timeout? if he doesnt call the time out they can run the clock off for 30 seconds or so before punting OR make the lions use one of their timeouts...

instead they use one of ours and then give the lions the ball with more time on the clock.

retarded.

Griese should be benched for sliding when he needed to get the 1st down. He ended up 1yrd short and cost us 3 points. Pathetic Bearrrs.

Great point - I was thinking the same thing. He basically saved the Lions a timeout. He must have thought that the Bears had a 1st down, or that they may go for it on 4th down...of course, there is always the possibility that he lost track of downs as well. Either way a stupid decision.

BTW, this Lake Michigan joke was funny the first time they showed the football out there, but it's kind of lost it's humor now that they have shown it 5 times.

The problem is the Bears can't concentrate because Urlacher and the rest of them can't stop thinking about Thomas Jones.
