Too early for this thread, but anybody else afraid this defense could be really bad?

Why wouldn't they be? They were pretty damn bad last year and there's nothing new. Tillman is going to be just coming back at the start of the season and he's not 100%. Manning in nickle (edit, scuse me Free Safety)... ugh. Gonna need to score a lot of points.

Replace afraid with excited and I agree.

Not a chance! Didn't you hear we got Jay Cutler?

He fixed our defense.

Spaulding you need to pay closer attention. With a healthy Tommie Harris and Charles Tillman, Mike Brown all rehabbed up and bringing in perfect record Rod to wake up Anderson, the Bears will have an elite defense this year.

Although ball control is a overrated stat (IMO) hopefully Cutler/offense will help the defense out. Not only more rest but it's probably safe to say they defense won't be starting many drives in their own half of the field.

I don't understand how anyone can say that Cutler isn't worth at least 1 more game over Orton. 10-6 book it.

nobody can talk to me about "bad defenses". my team redefines the term.

cutler inherited a better team with the bears than the broncos. they'll make the playoffs. they could even represent the NFC.

12-4, losses to the Steelers, @Seahawks, @Falcons and @ Vikings.

BS. you predict they win every game when you start the game threads.

I may be drinking the kool aid but when I look at the schedule I only see the Ravens game as being a problem. I don't think the Packers or Vikings will be a problem and every other tough matchup (Eagles and Steelers) is going to be played at home.

I think they will put up 40 on that new Packer defense opening day and win a tight game in December.

They will split with the Vikings.

The one team you are missing is the Seahawks. Seattle is a very tough place to play and I see the Seahawks as turning it around this year.

I don't see it. They were pretty bad last year. Even in the good years they win 9 or 10 games and lose in the playoffs. They are that team that is suppose to do well and then doesn't.

Seattle wins the NFC West going away.

Arizona wins 7 games or fewer.

5-11.
No receivers. Mediocre running game. Iffy defense.
Stupid move to take best player (Hester as return man) and move him to receiver. This has to be the dumbest mover ever in pro football. I still don't get it. How do you something so fucking dumb. Hester as return man could give the Golden Boy great field position after nearly every kick and punt. And could have put them in the playoffs last year. But Noooooooo. Pendejos!!
I miss the old days when they played at Cominsky Field...

Considering what I saw from both teams last night and what I expected anyway, I expect that to be reversed. Packers will throw a ton of points on the Bears, and if you guys are lucky Cutler will only throw 2-3 INTs.

Do you know the difference in field possession? The average difference for any given year between the best team and the worst team is 5.5 yards. Even when Hester had 6 returns the Bears were only 6 yards better in starting field position then the worst team at the time (Miami).

Getting the ball into your best play maker more often is, a mistake?

Seems like a logical basis for reasoning.

They were playing without Hasselbeck. I think there defense is going to be very tough. They have a great linebacking group.

10-6
Strong start, but other teams will adjust, Bears won't.
Division winners.
Lose before NFC title game.

Maybe next year.
