Orton following Cutler in Denver is like Tiny Tim following Frank Sinatra.
I still can't believe that Pat Bolen was dumb enough to fire Mike Shanahan & replace him with Josh McDaniel, then they get rid of Cutler for Orton.
Unreal. Kyle is in for a long season.

It's the first week of training camp, the guy will be his average self by the time the season starts, he wont throw many interceptions, and he wont hit any long throws. I'm surprised that a record amount of people showed up to that training camp though...

Orton has a little Jim Kelly in him.

You think he would fit right in with a beard in the Denver mountains. I guess he now knows what Grossman felt with all the boos now.

You guys do realize that this isn't the first time Orton has been booed right?

Most QB's get booed at some point but they are strong enough to not take it personally and use it as motivation.

Hmmm, wasn't there a number 8 in Chicago by the name of Rex Grossman who got mercilessly by Chicago fans? Perhaps Orton couldn't wear 18 in Denver, but maybe it's something about #8 that quarterbacks should stay away from...at least quarterbacks that made stops in Chicago...

It always make me laugh to watch the MITM commercials and see North wearing the blue & orange 18...time to trade that in for a sixer...

Niel, the #18 is actually retired in Denver by an obscure QB named Frank Tripucka, who many had never heard of. Kyle Orton decided to wear #8 when he got traded to Denver and found out he couldn't wear the #18 he wore here in Chicago and when he played his college football at Purdue.

Phil, go say hi to Kevin Matthews for me and get him back on Chicago radio ASAP. Unfortunately, Frank Tripucka's a very obscure name that even I never heard of. The name of the quarterback whose number #18 is retired by the Denver Broncos came to yours truly by way of an E-mail from my brother's father-in-law. He lives out in Denver and follows the Broncos and the Denver sports scene even closer than I do. I can't help you with look-a-likes or a great deal of his stats...Frank is that obscure!

I can't believe I wasn't aware of that...and I call myself a fan...I will make sure to do the appropriate penance for such an action

I know it's football but as former SCORE baseball analyst Jimmy Piersall used to say, "Who the hell is he?" The only thing about Frank Tripucka I can figure is that he played when the Broncos were in the AFL back in the '60s, before my time... :(

I don't get it.

He lives in Denver and you live in Chiacago. I would reasonably expect that he would follow the Denver sports scene even closer than you.

What do you mean? Are you a bigger fan of the Broncos, Rockies and Nuggets than most Denverinians??

Kyle Orton gets booed by Denver Bronco fans at a record crowd of over 13,000. Sucks to be him right now I guess. How do you think he will do? He's showing some early signs of struggling.

It's going to be tough for him. He got his butt kissed in Chicago by an idiot media and some moronic fans because he kissed the media's butt.

There's been whispers Simms is outperforming him in camp. But Simms won't be the starter because that would be a huge embarassment to Broncos management.

I wanted Simms brought in actually before we got Cutler.

Seems they are used to watching good QBs in Denver.

While in Chicago we have preferred QBs who play what we call Bears football over ones who have won playoff games and there are fans pining for that guy when we now have a 26 year old guy who played in the Pro Bowl.

You know there are going to be people who complaining the air game is not Bears football. Who cares if we are winning games and going places? The air game is not griding it out, black and blue division Bears football.

Those are the same people who if the Cubs won the series would call the Score and complain "But it's our tradition to lose. Winning it all is NOT Cubs baseball!"

You nailed it.
The media ran with this stupid assed "Bears Weather" garbage for years....they have had good QBs in places like BUFFALO and GREEN BAY and CINCINNATI over the years, but somehow 'Soldiers Field' is Siberia.
What a load of nonsense and the guy who really got it all started was famous stunt pilot, Bob Collins along with Chuck Swirsky.

what will probably happen is orton will have a better year then cutler in the win column, but statistically not so much. but everyone in chicago will be calling the trade bad because the W is all that matters. terry b and dan b will have heart-attacks from the bad callers and then 2012 hits were all dead and the bears never win another superbowl ever.
