Whenever I see head coach Lovie Smith, I think of John Amos. If anyone ever saw "Good Times" back in the mid '70s, John played the father of the Evans family. I also remember John as Fred Dryer's boss near the end of "Hunter's" network run in the late '80s. Whenever I see Devin Hester, I think of football's answer to either Tyrus Thomas or Alexei Ramirez...

I saw John Amos in the cult classic "Vanishing Point". I didn't even recognize him until the movie was almost over. He does resemble Lovie a bit,but John looks more like a Football coach!

Jimmy, here's a blast from the past...Remember Dyrol Joyner? He's bald just like Lovie, and he used to be an anchor/reporter on the defunct "SportsChannel Report" here in Chicago. Dyrol came here over a decade ago from Washington...In fact, here's al love child, without any photos on my part. Lovie Smith is the love child of Dyrol and John Amos...

I do remember his name. Who was the Sports Guy at ch. 5 that dropped dead playing hockey?
I seem to remember,he also was African-American with a shaved head.

Jimmy, the bald one is Ryan Baker, who now does sports at CBS2, which nobody watches...The other African-American sportscaster who died way too soon at NBC5...Darrian Chapman, who did have hair on his head, and played hockey at Johnny's Icehouse near the United Center...

How does anyone mention John Amos and not immediately think McDowell's and the golden arcs?
