Yeah,One thing I hate is when fans or media give nicknames to football players or White Sox players before they accomplish anything. RoboCop-James Thornton was a prime example. Don't try to endear these guys to the public before they actually accomplish something! Johnny Knox had a nice game,ok,good! Lets wait at least until game 12 or 13 before we give him a nickname! Next will come a talk show or some bit on Bears postgame shows where some whitebread broadcaster is kissing his ass! I've seen this shit time after time. It makes me want to puke.

It could be worse...NBC Sports' Keith Olbermann referred to Johnny Knox as "Johnny Knox-ville" when he aired the highlights of the Steelers/Bears' game on "Football Night in America". Hey Keith...Go find a way to name Bill O'Reilly the "Worst Person in the World" on your MSNBC "Countdown" show. That was sooo bad! :x

Yes I did indeed. The call was meant to be in jest and there was a "Superfans" inflection employed in the call, as I meant to be over the top, with praise for a guy who has has 2 very nice games to begin his career. Obviously, if the Bears were to seriously consider a name change for the field, it would have to be something worked out with the Park District and to give up naming rights, someone or some corporation, would have to pay dearly. It was all in fun. If you took it seriously, you need to lighten up. But in all seriousness, Knox has shown the kind of speed/quickness and ability to seperate, that might allow him to be a significant contributor right away and a real #1 receiver down the road. I hope he can continue to produce as he has, if not better.

you felt the need to inflect "superfans" two times in one day?

SHARK's political views are his own, but Olbermann's "Johnny Knox-ville" reference was bad...really bad!

Chris Berman used the obvious "fort knox" nickname during the highlights at halftime of the MNF game. Gag!

Great minds.....I know, I know, I'm in the minority on this. But I like Berman and his sense of humor. (probably why I come up with similar stuff from time to time) It's made him a huge star, so he must be doing something right. I like to come up with lines too, whether it be Fort Knox, Scott Line...brink of disaster, or Cubs end the wait in 2008.....oh, wait a minute. Lets let that last one go. That one didn't really work out too well. In any case, sports are supposed to be fun. Have some fun with it. Get silly, as Jurko would say. Thats what it's all about Champ.

Scott Line "drive up the middle for a base hit to bring in the runner he inherited" brink isn't very catchy.

Linestink rolls off the tounge a lot better. And that blowhard Berman is a star because of idiots like you who find is annoying puns funny. I am just thankful that I have the NFL network around for my highlights so I don't have to watch any of the ass colwns on the Yankee...I mean Entertainment and Sports Programming Network.
