Ok. I thought it was just the O line and playing some good defenses in the first 2 games. Now I think something is wrong with Forte. He had some holes vs the Seahawks and couldn't bust a good run. Looks like he's lost a step from last year and he's not as quick. He doesn't hit the hole hard like he did last year. He's tenative now. It has to be an injury cuz you don't lose it in your 2nd year in the NFL. How old is Forte? 23? Even though he had a big work load last year he still should be OK at that age. Not enough wear and tear yet. Is he hurt?

Did you see Forte get blasted in the knee early in the game? He had to go to the locker room to have his knee taped up(shot up). He made it back out to finish the game ,I think Orlando (I can back pedal a little bit) Pace and that Omehymer dude have a little something to do with the lack of running game.

Forte is a better runner outside the tackles than he is between them. Peterson hits the holes much harder on runs up the middle. This was true last year, too.

The O-line sucks balls, and I've been worried about Forte takin' too much of a beating because he has to create his own holes and taking too many head-on shots. I think we may want to play him sparingly (if at all) in the game with the Lions to get him some rest along with the bye week after that. I suppose it's not outside the realm of possiblity that he's hurt much worse then the Bears are letting on and we won't have a choice other than puttin' the wrong AP in there :(

Forte had the ball in his hands almost 400 times last season. History tells us that every back not named Terrell Davis usually has an off season the following season after being worked like that. My guess is he will start to come around toward the middle of this season.

I understand that, Nas. But not after your 1st year when you're 23 years old. After 2 or 3 straight seasons of 400 touches I can see that taking a toll. Not after one year. Not at his age. Something else is wrong. Injury or he just doesn't have the drive like he did last year. Maybe he thinks it will just come easy cuz he had pretty good success last year.

He did have that toe injury at the end of last season that slowed him down. I wonder if that's completely healed or maybe he hurt it again.

He tweaked his hammy in training camp. Could that be it? Hammies can take awhile to mend.

He looked far better in the preaseason as well. Definitely something wrong.

I agree with this. His lack of ability to pound through the line, coupled with the fact that the O-Line has been consistently pushed back about 2 yards behind the line of scrimmage this year.

When they run a sweep or one of those 0-yard passes that substitutes for a run, he seems to do quite well.

He is being too patient when he is running between the tackles. We have seen countless RB's seemingly adopt out of nowhere, the bad habit of too much lateral movement before you hit the hole. That is exactly what I see this year. He is giving up a good amount of time dicking around, before hitting the hole. It is pretty obvious that once AP comes in, he usually gets into the secondary at least once, because of the change of pace the defense has to adjust to. AP hits the hole mighty quick.
