I just felt like I got the same szpeech from Teddy, Jerry and Lovie that they gave to some MCCaskey to retain their jobs.

And they have some core of players, they must keep in a room somewhere, that is going to want some great asst coaches come to Chicago???

LB crew did a good job. Lovie is certainly leading a charmed life. Keep firing those asst. coaches. I guess Halas Hall has no mirrors!

I don't think it's OK, RFDC. Truth be told, with the exception of Special Teams Coach Dave Taub, Lovie and his staff should be packing their bags and getting the hell out of Chicago once and for all. Thanks to the labor unrest in the NFL and Lovie's contract WITHOUT A BUYOUT, he's the luckiest S.O.B. in my opinion.

That's nothing. Lovie's denial regarding the Cover 2 (must be a good scheme -- other teams run it also. Uh huh; on a percentage, how often? And if they don't have the talent anymore [old, injured, tired, traded away], I bet those other teams don't emphasize that scheme...)

Let's see: he just about said he doesn't care what the Offense does.

We're bringing in new ideas & thoughts, but we're still emphasizing Cover 2. Because, you know, no new ideas & thoughts...

Marinelli thinks that being Lovie's assistant and coach keeps him in a slot to get a job, whereas being the DC doesn't? Butt puppets, indeed.

The Bears are too stupid and arrogant to try and emulate what the Colts did. That sack o' shit Ted Phillips was saying how not many teams can be great consistently. Ummm Ted, take a look at the Colts fuckface.

The truth is that many teams, the Colts included, hardly play any cover 2 Defense anymore.
All Lovie had to do today was say that the Bears are going to do some things differently on Defense. Jerry & Lovie stand at the podium for 30 minutes feeding everyone bullshit, like how the Bears are making drastic changes...yet nothing is changing.
Who gives a fuck that the Bears were in a Super Bowl 3 years ago? That was Rivera's Defense anyway. Lovie has 4 losing seasons out of 6 & 3 in a row & they really think this mental midget has the skills to re-build the Bears?
Lovie will bring in another one of his kiss ass buddies Perry Fewell as Defensive coordinator & Mike fucking Martz as Offensive coordinator.
Ye gads!
Meanwhile smaller market teams like Buffalo & Washington are making aggressive moves bringing in guys who have been successful. At least they are trying to turn things around. I dont like Billick, & Shanahan was #5 on my wish list, but I would take either of these 2 guys right fucking now.
I hope Washington & Buffalo have great seasons next year while the Bears go 4-12.

Amended for accuracy:

Lovie Smith has missed the playoffs 4 out of 6 years & has 3 losing seasons.

I was thinking about the recent Bears shitfest that was the press conference the other day, & thinking about the spineless pussys in the Chicago media who were present & afraid to ask a challenging question. This took place the same week that Bill Gleason passed away. I miss the days when guys like Gleason & others who have been mentioned here recently, would actually challenge a GM or head coach & wouldnt let them continue to give bullshit answers. Is there a single media person in this town today that has the balls to ask tough questions? No.
Where was Mike North when we needed him at 2:00PM at Tuesday Halas Hall?!
