He has to have one of the biggest smiles I've ever seen. He seemed to be genuinely enthusiastic. Do you think he was happy to play for the Bears or was he happy that he got a ton of dough to play football for three years? Are we honestly to believe that he'll be playing for the Bears in 6 years?

Yeah, I'll probably say a little because of the fact that he's now a part of an organization that seemed as though they were gonna jump through whatever hoops necessary to get him, but ALOT because of an insane amount of guaranteed money. I do think that he'll likely play out the entire contract (hopefully EARNING said enormous paycheck), as a 30 year-old DE isn't the same as a 30 year-old RB - he has some prime years left...

If I offered you either 42 million dollars or a chance to play for the Bears which would you take?

I think that's the answer for what he was smiling about.

I wonder how much more Washington and Philly would have been willing to pay him...

I thought I heard on the radio that the Bears were willing to offer $2 million more a season for the contract.

I have a feeling that the other teams said that they weren't willing to match the initial Bears offer.

Damn, so it really wasn't the whole "Bears tradition" thing that sold him on us??

If I'm not mistaken, Peppers love parents are below. Some kind of sordid three way:

Talk about three disparate styles. Taylor seems pleased and dressed for the occasion, Peppers has a shit-eating grin on his face and looks dressed oddly as some kind of air force officer, and Manumaleuna looks like someone by the end of the bar at the neighborhood tavern after a drunk looked at his girl the wrong way.

Ok, they keep replaying the part of the press conference when he says he isnt the savior and there are other all pro guys on the team. It sounds like he said he is just another piece of ass on the team?? There is no way that is what he said, right??

Looks like Al Harris from the 1984 Bears.

My guess is that if there was a thought bubble coming from his head at that time, it would have said something to the effect of:

Supposedly the Panther's original offer was more, so it wasn't only about the money. The most money and not Carolina.

I don't think the guaranteed money was the same from Carolina, so they didn't offer more.

ALL that matters is the guaranteed money when it comes to NFL contracts.

I think there's some young Stacey King in there:

Peppers turned down 4 years for $54 million from the Panthers.
Bears offered 6 years & $91 million.
That's a ton of dough for 10 sacks & 36 tackles.
