Can he ever be a star? I'm a fan of his but I'm not sure about the answer to this question. He has the talent to be a start IMO but I'm not sure he has the intangibles. Star quarterbacks make the guys around them better. At no point in his career can anyone truly say he made someone around him a better player. I believe if he can remove the obstacles between his ears he could become a top 5 QB by the end of the season.

Orton didn't throw him the Ball.

He's got the talent to do it but the most talented QB's are rarely the top 5 QB's. Tom Brady and Drew Brees aren't supremely talented. They just know what they can and can't do. Cutler seems to be unable to change his style. When it works, it's great. When it doesn't, it's bad.

I don't think he'll ever be a top 5 QB. It's going to a struggle to get back to top ten where he was on the fringe of in Denver.

I still find it funny that people have always said "Brandon Marshall is making Orton look good" but no one ever questioned whether it was actually Marshall making Cutler look good. It should be a very interesting test case this year as all three players are now on different teams.

I completely understand what you are saying but I don't think that is enough proof. I think Brandon Marshall cleaned up a lot of mistakes that Cutler made. He didn't have anyone that could do that until Devin A stepped on the field last year. That's when he picked stepped his game up.

Yeah. Jay needs a tall receiver to be at his best, but most QBs are the same way. That's why I think DA is such a wild card this year. You know Cutler had to tell Martz he needs DA on the field.

Still dont see how Marshall being on the field last year would mean Royal doesnt see as many balls when B.Marshall was playing the year Royal blew up.

Orton didn't want to throw him the ball for whatever reason. IIRC he was dealing with an injury too.

Cutler ended up making Kyle Orton better. Orton's QB rating last season, 86.8, was his career best.

I seem to recall that Royal's role was diminished last season by his role as a returner. Also, he had trouble learning McDaniels' offense.
