No Steve Smith, Clausen at QB. No Cutler, no run game to speak of.

Bears win 5-2.

I can't believe lovie allowed this information to be available so soon seeing as he loves the cloak of secrecy.

I've got to think that Todd Collins will resemble an NFL quarterback unlike this past Sunday in that "Sunday Night Football" debacle vs. the Giants. Even with Jay Cutler sidelined for the first time in his career, Collins will play much better and the Bears keep the Panthers winless.

Ya, if Collins gets hit hard his stinger can come right back. I've had it and I had to wear the big neck roll to limit the range of motion of my neck, and I still kept getting them. Strictly wildcat offense by 3rd quarter.

He better be. He's my pick to click in Rick's contest.

I think we're all overreacting to a certain extent about Todd Collins. Granted, the 16-year NFL journeyman will be making only his 21st career start Sunday, but to borrow a page from ESPN Radio 1000's "Waddle & Silvy", who'd you rather? Quite frankly, I have more confidence in Collins than I have in rookie Jim Clausen for the Panthers. Clausen looks like he should still be at Notre Dame than guiding an NFL offense.

He can't throw the out pattern.

IMO, If you can't throw the out, you should not be IN!

Who? Collins or Clausen?

Todd Collins wasn't brought in to be a veteran backup. He was brought in to be the guy who tutored Cutler on the Martz offense (similar to the one he ran in KC when he was there). Todd Colins is just 2010 speak for Jonathan Quinn, Medicine Woman.

Tod Collins in 2007 carried the Redskins into the playoffs. He is no slouch. I'm just hoping he can be a "Shane Matthews" type until Cutler is ready.

Now there's a name I haven't seen in a while...Jonathan Quinn. Any idea what he's up to these days? :?

According to his Wikipedia page, he is the head coach of MidAmerica Nazarene University

What or whom was Jonathan Quinn supposed to be teaching again?

Rex Grossman, the Terry Shea offense, which was just an offshoot of what Martz was running in St Louis.

There's another "blast from our past", ex-Offensive Coordinator Terry Shea...

Horsehit. He'll quietly go into the locker-room halfway thru the first quarter to "use the facilities", and be in a cab 2 minutes later heading for the coast, pads and all.

Is Frank Ohmyfuckinggod starting? If he is, Collins will be carried off on a stretcher ten minutes into the first.

I mentioned Jeff Garcia in another thread BEFORE Cutler got hurt. I was mocked for bringing him up.
