I know I'm a couple days behind with this, but: still think this was a bad move?

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... nth-award/

In his first season with the Bears, defensive end Julius Peppers is providing a pretty good return on the investment.

Peppers has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month for November. He generated four sacks and 13 tackles, he deflected a pass that was intercepted, and he recorded two additional tackles for losses.

It’s the first time Peppers has won the award since October 2006, and the third time in his career. And he’s the first Bear to receive the recognition in more than 20 years. The last Chicago player to be named defensive player of the month was Trace Armstrong, in September 1990.

The last part of the story is crazy. I can't believe that Urlacher, Briggs, or somebody in '05 and '06 didn't win it. Also a little surprised that Mike Brown didn't win it for those 2 game winning picks in '03

When I woke up this morning I didn't expect a Trace Armstrong sighting on the CSFMB!

That is crazy that Trace was the last one to accomplish that. I would have thought for sure that Urlacher or Briggs would have done it at some point.

Hard to believe, but Trace is 18th on the NFL All Time sack list.

I was drinking at CO Daniels one night in Champaign when some jagoff bumped into my back and nearly caused me to spill my beer. I turned around to confront the guy and it was Trace Armstrong. Big guy, but I could see the fear in his eyes.

I think they had an exhibition game down there and he was cruising around the bar scene with Cap Boso and his crew. I heard Hampton was there also but I never saw him.

That was before this latest generation ruined the place, turned it into some kind of dance bar, got rid of the mopbuckets full of Natural Light, and shut it down.

Peppers had some bad bad games early in the season & I wasn't the only one questioning his play.
Since then he has been a fucking beast.

This reminds me of a classic Ditka show moment. Coach, as usual, was "tired" after an evening of Dewars. Cap Boso was on, and for whatever reason Ditka decided Cap had a funny name. Out of nowhere he starts with, "Cap Boosso thas a funny name." Johnny Morris is lookin' at him like WTF! Then Ditka starts ragging on Boso for saying ya know. "You shay yoono one more time." Ahh classic 80's Bears Extra.

Mac amongst others. There was lots of chatter about Peppers after the first 4 games.
