This reminds me of the picture Jim Higgins has hanging on the wall at his bar, Higgins Tavern. Jim had a picture taken of himself with Tommy Lasorda when they met at Wrigley. Jim sent a copy to Lasorda and wrote a letter asking Lasorda to please autograph the photo as Jim wanted to hang it on the wall of the bar. Jim also enclosed a check for $100 that wasn't made out to anyone and advised Lasorda to make it out to his favorite charity. If you're ever in Higgins Tavern at Racine and School you can see the autographed photo, the letter Jim sent to Lasorda, and the canceled check- made out to Tommy Lasorda.
