Greetings programs! I just got home a lil bit ago after a proper night chock full of alcohol-fueled-debauchery, and seeing as tomorrow features "the game of a generation" aka THE MOST IMPORTANT ARBITRARILY UNIMPORTANT BIG TIME EVENT EVER, obviously Packers/Bears was the hot topic for the evening.

I'm not a prediction type, as my common retort is "If I knew what was going to happen, I wouldn't watch the game" however I had to concede to a Packerfriend that I'm not feeling very good about this game... in fact, my head tells me that the Packers will win this game while my heart hopes that I'm wrong.

Almost immediately after admitting that, I started backpedaling by mentioning how in training camp I was programmed by Burn-Stine to believe that this team could be FUNBAD, and that Martz was boom or bust with no room for a happy medium. I thought that Jay Cutler is the kind of quarterback who perennially gives you a shot every single year, although with the holes on the offensive line and the shit wide receivers and secondary that this team just didn't have the raw talent to seriously contend. I then said something like "If you would have told me that this Bears team was going to make it to the NFC championship game and have a shot at going to the Super Bowl, I'd jump up and down and definitely take it"

But now we're here... Lovie's well-documented rectal horseshoe has helped allow a good-bad/bad-good team to win 12/17 games, some you thought "no way they'll win" and they did, others you thought "no way they'll lose" and they did. Now we've got a situation where we're mortally afraid of a 10-6 #6 seed that has God personally coming down from the Heavens to quarterback (I enjoy watching the guy play but I have gotten sick of Aaron Rodgers deification month) and even though the Packers feel like they're a 13-3 juggernaught coming in here, truth be told they're a depleted team that has one real good dimension they can beat you with... and with New England gone I think the Bears have as legitimate a chance as anyone to win the whole damn thing.

So my question to you is.... if the Packers were to win in approximately 10 hours, would you be satisfied with the season as a whole? Would you say "hey, a mediocre-plus team caught some breaks had some exciting games and entertained me all year so now after I've stepped back from the initial shitty feeling of losing, this was a good season" or does the whole Packers/6-seed/HOLY-FUCK-WE-WERE-THIS-CLOSE thing really fuck with you?!

I have a sinking feeling that if the Bears come up short this one could hurt more than 2006... not because the Bears are some great team that had a few bad breaks and let it slip away.... but because the NFL is so damn parity-stricken/mediocre that anyone could have won the damn tournament, and depending on how certain franchise quarterbacks develop/play in the future, this might have been a window that slams shut immediately thereafter.

What do you think tho? Give us a call at 1-888-TALKSWAYTOOFUCKINGMUCH. OR TEXT 607TLDR!
