It was the guy that was at the B&B remote screaming for Mike North.

I'm gonna say this one will be a bust. I mean out of the NFL after 2 years. Just a feeling.

Chris Conte is a wasted draft pick. He is projected to be a career backup. I guess he can keep Craig Steltz company on the bench.

Look at all the hate on the white guy! You could have an Archeletta type right here if he takes the right pill

So which GMs were at the draft?

I am OK with drafting bigger guys, as they fill out! Drafting 5'9" guys who are muscle bound and have peaked as a Junior in college is not what you want. Big frames, to put muscle on, is what the NFL is all about. Not sure Angelo knew that.

Stephen Paea would be an example of a guy who is maxed out. Is that Maxed out sizewise good enough to play and play well in the NFL? Could be for THIS GUY, as he has the big motor, but in a game in which you beat on the other guy, always better to just be bigger...then figure it out.

That's antithetical to what the Bears want their DT to do. They want lighter, quicker guys.

1st Round - Pretty much landed the very guy we have been clamoring for all along. Carimi is a monster. Pretty much the top RT prospect in the Draft who may be able to play LT, but is probably better suited on the right side. Let the shuffling around him and Kreutz begin. The Bears will have to come up with some sort of lineup from here on out with Ja'Marcus Webb (likely moving to LT), Roberto Garza (probably starting at RG if he's not cut), Chris Williams (probably battling Frank Omiyale for the remaining LG spot), and Frank Omiyale (battling Chris Williams at LG). That leaves Kreutz inside. Either way, hands down, the Bears primary need has been addressed in a major way with the biggest upgrade imaginable in this Draft.

2nd Round - By landing Paea, the Bears land an ideal DT that fits their scheme to perfection. Paea is the strongest person in the Draft and a tremendous force inside. Despite weighing just over 300 lbs, he plays at the point of attack like a guy who is 30 lbs heavier without sacrificing the versatility a big man does. It is likely that the Bears landed another starter in this Draft with the addition of the big man, again addressing arguably the 2nd biggest need on the roster in a big way.

3rd Round - Here's where we go a little bit sideways. Since it was in the 3rd Round and not in the more important 1st and 2nd Rounds, it didn't do as much damage. Conte is a project Safety. Played three years at CB on the bench before making the shift to Safety, where he wound up a PAC-10 1st Team All Conference guy. Conte is a 6'3", 200 lbs Safety that performed very well at the Combine. 10'7" broad jump and low 4.5's in the 40. Liability in coverage, but a big run support guy, which is par for the course for Lovie Smith Safeties. Likely a contributor on Special Teams from Day 1. With Conte, either people liked him or they didn't. Half the sites list him as a 3rd or 4th Round guy and the other half list him as a 7th Round or Undrafted Free Agent. Bears are obviously in the former group.
